Just picked up a new 2001 CQC6 and check out the blade profile! Looks like a grass roots move by Ernie...the blade is the old style (more pronounced point) and a zero ground.
The picture shows a 2001 on top and a 2000 on the bottom.

You are my new hero! :) I noticed that the blade profile seemed slimmer on the 2001's, but I couldn't tell from the existing photos that had been posted, and I didn't get around to asking the question here. Thanks for making the differences clear.

Your knife maybe more pointy, but it still has slotted screws and is ground on the wrong side. I will give you $50 for the pair to save you any further embarrassment. You can then buy a nice knife with a proper grind, quality control, Torx screws and uncrushed boxes. :D

Just because Trader has about a dozen of these babies, don't give the poor boy too hard a time! There is an example of each of these presently on ebay, a mint 2000 #1178371062 (buy it now = $1351) and a mint 2001 #1178452097 (buy it now = $1150), in case you're looking to add to that mass of knives you currently have.

Well which style do you like? We have already concluded that Suspects prefer the crushed box over non crushed...after all if it's not crushed is it could be a fake...anyway I find the old style much more aggessive looking and probably more functional. My vote the 2001

I dunno... I think the 2000 looks more aggressive. Must be that extra big bevel along the top...makes it look like the top's sharpened, don't it? :D
