Hi dingy! Hows your HG-55?

What is the major problem with Chinese customs? This might help us to solve your problem.

Is it that they charge a lot of money?

Are there strict and tough laws about importing knives?

Are they just untrustworthy and likely to steal your knife if they know what it is?

When I ship out of the usa, I will usually label the Busse as "hunting tool" as opposed to "hunting knife" - I dont lie on customs forms and feel this is an appropriate, and sometimes necessary, stretching of the truth...

The declared value of the Busse is another issue - I will not lie or stretch the value, even though this can raise eyebrows, attract customs agents with sticky fingers or even command import taxes...

I would suggest sending a PM or email to Lachine who is/was a regular contributor to the Busse Forums here at Blade Forums. She is also from China and may be able to give you some pointers about buying Busse knives that you don't pick up from the users here. Additionally, she most likely will be of help with info on anything that has to be done to get a Busse knife through Chinese customs.

It is good to see another Chinese Busse fan onboard. Good luck to you in your hunt for INFI.

Best regards, Les.

man, thank you for your remebering me and my HG55 :D i give that knife to my best friend , he deserve it .

chinese customs , have a right that can confiscate knives that looks like a Weapon and can hurt some body :thumbdn:
this is the worst thing i think , normally they just detain it for some days and charge extra fee (like bandit ).
in general, they do permit the small knives under 10" . so i just wanta buy some small things .
thanks
:D

Ni hao, dingy :)

It is tricky for us in the USA and other countries to ship to the People's Republic of China. The main concern for us is your Nation's customs. Sometimes, they will allow the knife to be sent back. They did allow lachine's M9LE to be returned to the USA, so she got her money back, I believe. Other times, they may just confiscate the knife. What would really help us is to know the restrictions on knives shipped to China... For instance, is there a blade size limit? Are double-edge knives allowed? If you know the web link to the English language version of China's Customs website, I would appreciate it if you could post that link so I and other people can read up on shipping to China. :)

The other problem is the language barrier between English and Mandarin or Cantonese. "Hello" is all I know in Chinese (Mandarin, yes?). :) Luckily, language translation websites are helping to get through this.

I have shipped a knife to Taiwan once, with no problems, but this is much simpler than to mainland China.

Hang in there, and keep trying, many of us will ship internationally.

Sorry that the shipping formalities/requirements are frustrating.:thumbdn:

Has to be very upsetting when you find a good deal only to have those "problems" ruin things.:grumpy::grumpy:

Everyone, please make sure this thread keeps on track and does not get into actual selling/buying.

Yours in Nuclear Moderating,
Hammy

You got it, Hammy. :) However, if it is OK for informational purposes only for those interested; I stumbled around the China customs website dingy was kind enough to post a link to, and I finally hit upon the English version link... Here is that link: People's Republic of China Customs (ENGLISH)

Dingy, you must be a very thoughtful person to give your Busse knife to your friend, that is a very nice gesture. That is a true friend for I have done the same with my friends. I truly hope you can aqquire all the Busse knives your heart desires. Hang in there and never give up. Good luck with your quest for more Infi.:)

Yea going back to the OP... Sorry that Most sales people perfer CONUS. mainly this is to avoid all the extra paperwork and head aches of shipping internationaly. and the fear that there will be a problem with customs and the deal will go bad at no fault of our own. dont think its just cause your in china , even canadian hogs and euro hogs have issues with this. the option of setting up a CONUS agent is possible, this is how my friend in south america gets his work supplys. there are also some hogs willing to ship to china as well. it just might take a little while.

i think i saw you going for the s5 great blade i hope it works out for you. sorry if i got off track but thats what i think you were asking.

This is exactly why I don't want to ship internationally. If I ship to someone in the US, I am already worried that the post office might lose the package, and I will have to fight with them for the insurance.

With international shipping, there are now several more places for a package to get lost - customs, the foreign delivery service, and so on. Add the difficulty of a different language, and it's not worth the potential headache to sell one or two knives.

If I sell you a knife, I want to be reasonably confident that you will get the knife, without too many headaches. I don't want to give myself a month worth of extra work trying to fight with customs or the post office if you don't get your package.

men , thank you all.
your posts are informative to me .
you rock
thanks
dingy
