Because, why not?!

Picked up some Putman G10 scales for my Ritters. I love the royal blue on the large! When combined with a paracord fob in bright yellow, visibility in the outdoors should be great.

And, because I am (often enough) in areas with 2.5" blade length restrictions and I love the axis lock, I dusted off my old 154cm mini-grip and sent it to Big Chris for a regrind. I had him shorten the length, and raise the grind higher. I was going for a sort of "Baby-Ritter" and I think it turned out great! The blade and shape feel very natural, and the work he did is top notch. Aesthetically, it is too bad the logos had to be cut off, but functionally it is now a better slicer than it ever could have hoped to be before!

Very nice scales, I'm a huge fan of aftermarket scales and have tried almost all versions except the putman G10. I know its been said everywhere but a good set of scales really raises the quality of an already great knife, and the regrind looks really good to, just curious is the turn around time with Big Chris pretty quick?

Nice! The blue does look cool. I really like that regrind, I have always preferred the Ritter blade's profile as opposed to the 551/556's blade.

I have two sets of scales from Allen Putnam I have been thinking of getting a new M390 Mini to put some G10 scales on.
Think I will go with the black Anso pattern once again for the new mini.

Big Chris had the knife in his hands for about a week I think. Couldn't recommend him highly enough!

With the small Putman scales you do lose a little bit of the nimbleness of the knife. Not much but noticeable. I tried the Anso pattern on the mini and thought it was too thick. Felt clumsy and the thickness made actuating the lock bar a little more difficult.

The grips on the large Ritter are far more transformative. The balance of the knife is much better now. I'd go as far as to say a scale upgrade is an absolute "must-buy" for the larges. It is that much better!
