Put an 18 deg polished edge on my CR Sebenza 21 Insingo with the Wicked Edge system. The edge is hair whittling sharp. When slicing phone book paper you can barely hear the blade cutting through it. I love the S35VN STEEL, it is my first knife with that steel and WoW. Here are some pictures, what do you think?

The edge is now V shaped correct? I know the factory edge is convex. My Sebenza 21 is dull and I am not sure whether I should put on a v edge or send to CRK for sharpening and spa treatment. Not confident with my ability to maintain the factory convex.

If you feel that you do not have the skills to sharpen, sending it to CRK maybe be for you or if there is a professional knife sharpener on this forum that may work.

Ditch the convex edge.

Ditch the convex edge.

I asked this question on the CRK subforum. So you think a V shaped edge on a Sebenza will perform better than or at least as good as the factory convex edge?

I can believe the theory that a convex edge is stronger than a V, but I don't think if makes a whole lot of difference when it comes to knives (axes are a different matter). Either edge can be honed shaving sharp and I can't really tell much difference in cutting/shaving properties.

Do you have a WE (or guided sharpener)? You can V grind it, or keep it convex if you want...

...(whichever edge style you prefer).

I use Lansky. I watched the video. Nice work! Have never tried to create a convex edge using Lansky. Will try on a cheap folder first.

If i were you I probably would reprofile that convex into a V using the diamond hones. Probably much easier to maintain using usual methods.
