I fixed the chips in the bk9 and took it back out again. After i was done i came back in and there was no chips in it at all. I must have hit the dirt.

Beat the snot out of my 9 tonight batoning and chopping about a 1/4 of a cord of firewood and as usual.......no chips, rolls, dents or dings.......and stayed razor sharp after it was all over. Love my 9.....love my Beckers.

Picking up the 13 next week and hopefully getting a 7 soon.

Yeah, things like that happen. And (IMO) factory edges on ALL knives can be fickle things, but once you give them a good sharpening to get to the good steel, usually you will notice a difference.

Beckers sure are tough. I was pounding my BK9 through a small poplar poll, and after about 50 whacks with the baton and no progress, I discovered a nail. The edge of the knife was only slightly rolled, AFTER 50 HARD WHACKS!! And then after, it took maybe 20 mins to sharpen the out. Good Stuff.
