I've seen pictures of a several BATAC LE's floating around with oiled grips. I like how the oil brings out the colors but don't want to end up with a slick grip. As well, are there alternate methods to oil to bring out the color?

What are your thoughts to bring out the colors in the tiger hide? Keep in mind this Slab-O-INFI will be a user!

A) Rub a bit of oil on the grips (mineral oil?). Perhaps this doesn't slicken the grip, does it?

B) Rub some Renaissance Wax on the grips (or the wax of your choosing). I have no clue what, if any issues this would cause however it seems to do a great job on my Giraffe Bone GW.

C) Perform all tasks humanly possible with the BATAC LE, allowing the natural skin oils to permeate the grips.

D) Rub ??? on the grips

Hey Ryan.
I really like Mineral Oil.
It brings out the colors nicely, it is not slippery
and if you don't like it you can wash it off.
Of course, that's just until your hand sweat does
the permanent darkening.

I've used Linseed Oil on the wood work I have done in the past. Initially a little slick, but once the media absorbs it, the shiny slickness goes away. Not sure what Linseed Oil would do to Micarta. Probably wouldn't damage it, but not sure what the outcome would be.

I kinda like the neutral-ness of the factory LE handles on my FBM and BATAC... Just me personally though... :)

It first rubs the sandpaper (600grit) on Its BATACLE, then It rubs the mineral oil on Its BATACLE...
Both looked the same when It started... :D

Sounds like Jaxx is trolling for a Dom (or Domme, as the case may be).

Either Skunk or Eric told us last winter of the use of gunstock finish (tru-oil). Works great on Tiger micarta. Doesn't darken it TOO much and keeps that wet look WITHOUT making it slick. (How many slick gunstocks have you held???)

I'm considering doing my BATACLE and SJTACLE in it just to keep em pretty.

here's an active duty with tiger scales rubbed with some tru oil, i think it looks very nice.

I like the mineral oil myself. Will not make handle slick once dry.

One application might soak up in a few days. Just keep putting it on every few weeks until the slabs can't soak up more.

If you don't like the look it will be gone soon or you can wash it right off.
I use degreaser on a q-tip to remove it very fast.

I've never tried Jaxx's method but think the sanding would make it feel better also.

Jaxx it appears you are not loving the top batacle very well, so I recommend sending it to the knife (busse) poor such as myself.
