Though today was a short day at school for me today, it dragged on forever.....it was horrible until I saw my package from Knifeworks.com on the kitchen table! :D

What was waiting for me inside of that box was a brand new Case Swayback Jack in Chestnut bone!!
This is the most beautiful blade I have ever handled in my short 17 years of life and I cannot believe I almost passed it up. I feel like an @$$ though for asking people for suggestions and then, at the last minute, changing my decision to get a completely different blade...but I feel that this decision was the right one. I assume that after I actually sat down and thought it through, it was an easy choice that I could have made on my own. :foot:

Though this could go in the review section, I feel that it belongs here more.

Getting on to the good stuff:

-The Chestnut bone is incredibly vivid and glossed and it warms my heart as it reminds me of my favorite time of year; Autumn. They accent the leaves and treetops so perfectly...

-The fit and finish is amazing and the both blades are tight (not too much to where it is a nail-breaker, but just enough to make me feel confident in its quality and sturdiness). There are no gaps to speak of whatsoever and the entire piece glistens in the sun. This is artwork....

-Both wharncliffe and pen blades came hair-popping sharp out of the box

-The entire piece just feels 'right' in my hand, I couldn't be happier!!

Now that the generic 'this is the greatest knife ever and I love it so much' part is over, how about some pics??

The first thing I did was compare my drawings (I did these in class when I was bored and when I finished all of my work) to the real thing. Though there are other models in my drawings, you can make out the poorly drawn, closed swayback:

The picture sucks...sorry:o

Then, I found a downed stick from the snow we just had and tested the blades...they did well. (I need to work on my technique)

My favorite pic so far...

Finally, A glamor shot:

Thank you for reading, I will take more pics soon!

Take care,

I remember when I first got mine. Those were pretty much my exact thoughts.
Don't tell Tony, but I carried it in a little pouch for several months to keep it looking brand new
now it looks like this:

Your post has convinced me that I need to buy a second to put away for a rainy day.

Enjoy it!

Deadfall - beauty, truly. And, you have a great deal of artistic talent. With a little work, those photos belong in a magazine.

I'm glad you posted, I can't wait to watch the knife age and mature alongside myself. It's very beautiful in a metaphorical sense...

Lovely knife, there certainly is something to be said about the swayback..thats for sure. Lovely photos of neat knives guys

Very nice...! I picked up a '97 47 Stockman in Chestnut in a little pawshop in N.C. a couple of weeks ago. It is beautiful too. I know how you feel with your new purchase. That color just grabs my attention and I just stand there staring at it! Enjoy.

The Case chestnut bone CV swayback is a wonderful knife. Every pocket knife fan should own one. It is the one production pocketknife I own that I really like everything about it. It's the best value in a production pocket knife I ever got.
