I spent quite a few nights thinking about which to purchase. Came down to either the 25 or a Zaan.

Now I just have to convince Lone Wolf to part with his NOS old style Zaan!!!

Congratulations, I have a few 25's as well. It is dependable and will serve you well.

Congrats, when I first got my 25 it was a bit hard to get used to the new design, I was really used to my 21's but with time and use, it ended up having a special place in my EDC rotation.

Im curious, what won you over that you initially didn't like? I had a 25 for a very brief time and didn't care for it. Much prefer a 21 or Umnumzaan. I was considering giving it another shot, maybe you can help convince me ;-)

I never broke my first one in, and it had a very stiff detent, almost painful to open. I also am not happy with where the upturned end of the pocketclip ends on the 25, relative to the second finger groove - it is towards the center of the finger groove. So that one was traded away (for a Zaan) rather quickly.

A few months ago I bought another 25 off the exchange, and this one has a perfect detent and action. Still had the pocketclip "issue", but I was thinking about purchasing a spare pocketclip and trying to modify it to suit the 25 better by un-bending the last bend, trimming about 1/4" off and re-bending it. Then I bought a Ti Lock and decided to try it's spring clip on the 25, and the pairing is IMHO PERFECTION. I feels 100x better in the grip, there is no up-turn at the end to snag on things (that has been a huge plus), and it becomes second nature to use rather quickly - rather than trying to squeeze the "lever" to open the clip to re-pocket, first introduce closed knife into the pocket and use the pocket for leverage to open the clip. Much harder to describe than to actually do.

As for the 25 positives, with the clip issue eliminated, it is substantially more ergonomic in my hand than a 21, the blade jimping is more functional, the edge seems to hold longer to me, and the thing just begs to be used. It could very well be the only folding knife I really need - I like it that much.
