this is my dismal attempt to beat the almost 600 reply thread.so,what do you say we give it a shot,or should i go find a hobby?
 
We were only 6 posts short.

Maurice, I suggest doing two things:
1. Convince Spark to reopen the thread for 6 more posts, after which it can be locked for posterity.

2. Go back to your original hobby of playing with sharp bits of metal.

Thanks Mike, now everyone should feel that The Thread has accomplished its intended mindless and almost knifeless purpose, and we can all put this silly thing behind us.

I sure am glad the thread didn't get to 666 posts. Then the end of the Universe as we know it would have been certain. These big threads are like Black Holes, large vortexes of randomness and chaos dragging souls down to their doom by sheer gravity and overwhelming intertia.

James, are you implying that Spark is like the 'higher authority' you mentioned? That might explain Turber acting like some sort of devine and benovolent spirit trying to make Everyone Happy. Or something else?

Kit Carson's thread would've made it on it's own if people didn't post multiple, redundant posts that said nothing but "Knife" (or some variation thereof).

With 7k plus members Mr. Carson needed LESS THAN ONE PERCENT of the member propulation to contribute to that thread...

No, Para, I don't think Chai Guy was referring to Spark as the "Higher Authority". I believe he was alluding to the fact that said Authority "Touched a Spark to the place".

This is merely my observation based on the photographic evidence and related commentary.

I know you all worked very hard, and for those of you who feel that the thread needed to hit 600 posts, I'd just like to say..."GET A LIFE". You've taken what Kit began as a lark in chat and turned it into a collossal waste of time and bandwidth. I mean seriously....look how you people are dressed. You, in the back there, you ever kiss a girl? Come on

) , but I feel the "other post" deserves recognition for actually being a discussion (most of the time?), not a record attempt. I actually read every post as I followed the Talonite discussion. I did not even read 10 of the 600 posts on "go for the record". I think I may have even learned something...
