I've only had my 524 Alumni for 2 weeks or so, and I'm frankly surprised it took this long.
I half expected it to look like this within a couple days.

As you can see the wear on the edges is coming along nicely, and the logo is beginning to wear off on one side.

It'll look pretty nice in time when the black finish really starts to wear, maybe not so much the logo but it won't exactly look horrible ( would've been nice if they stamped it but I'm not complaining ).

Oh and I'd love to see what your Alumni's look like by now, I'm sure some of you have carried one a decent amount and accumulated some nice wear on them.

I carry a Surge and a Ranger. You are a lightweight.
I had a Leatherman fuse on my belt every day for years but recently started to realize I only really need it at work or out and about.
I ordered the squirt a few weeks ago and decided to compile a whole lightweight setup ,which I've been trying out for the month.
Truthfully I don't need a whole lot of blade most days and I've been liking smaller knives more and more over the past couple years, that doesn't keep me from owning and carrying blades all the way up to a Buck 119 though.
I love 'em even if they're more than I actually need, but especially love the little ones and being surprised at how much they can get done.

Yep i rarely carry anything bigger than a 112 Ranger. All my 110’s are now antiques and part of a growing collection when i can find a deal on the older ones worth collecting.
Occasionally i wear a 110 LT. And for fun a 112 Auto but 112FG the most. 112slim is my new pocket carry but Spyderco Mannix 2 or the smaller Cat too depending on my mood.

I like the broken in look.

An LED maglite solitaire would be a good companion for your Alumni. Doesn't take long to wear the anodizing off of them either

Like this one ? ;)

I started with the LED solitaire on sale at the local hardware store, ordered the black aluminum squirt later that day ( BHQ threw in the free notepad ) , then ordered the black Alumni a week or so later, and the black Fisher stowaway came last.

I had to look twice. I was going to be embarrassed if that was in the first pic.

I forgot my flashlight in my shirt pocket when I took that first picture, but even after I added it and took a new picture I guess I still posted the wrong one.

It's a nice knife. I don't think you would have a problem carrying this one anywhere. I want one (of each).
