It worked like a charm, but...

...is it really safe for my blade? I was really irritated about some grungy brown fingerprints I'd left on the blades of my khuks, and I'd been trying to get them off for a while. Couldn't find anything that worked. That is, until...

Dish soap. Yeah, I used dish soap and a scrub brush. Is this safe for my blades, even after I re-oil them, or will this in some way shape or form damage their integrity?

Let me know. Thanks!

Works well and won't hurt anything. Just be aware of what kind of scrubby you are using.

I've often used dish soap and a toothbrush to remove the rouge from grooves in handles, wood and horn. Rinse well with warm water and re-oil or apply polish. As long as you don't soak a wood handle, it won't raise the grain. My 2 cents, YMMV
