Hey guys - I think it would be nice if benchmade made a balisong with normal size handles but a 3 or 3 1/2 in blade to make it legal to carry in those states that allow it ,you can find a older butterfly knife with a smaller blade but ther too expensive as a EDC(every day carry) knife .Right now I carry a Bear MGC with a 3 1/4 blade but we all know Bears break after any amount of use !

Yeah, that would be nice. I think in Washington you can only carry 3 and 1/2 inch blade. Bm42a's blade= 4 inches.:(
 
As do I. Many times people see my 42 and tell me it is too long. I know it is legal but would enjoy less hassle.;)
 
A smaller blade would mean one less hassle.

Most people balk at the sight of one of my Bali's. Usually I get a lecture on the legality in the state somewhere along the lines of "Hey man, thats illegal. You goin' to get sooo busted..." As well as the blades usually being too long.

I guess the movies, legality, and half-wit show offs who try to intimidate people have just given the Bali a bad name.

Then again... the chicks do go for the whole "bad boy" image;)
 
Yeah..I would like to see BM make some new 3 inch models, but given a choice I'd rather see 'em make some Custom 5 inchers :)

my friend, oh god, he's always like "you know you shouldn't carry those on you when you're at __________". and I'm always like "and look at your FRICKIN HUGE binder of bootleg VCDs!!!". Shuts him up pretty quickly ;).
then this one time he was pretty convinced the school's blade limit is 1.5". I was like "heh heh- no".

But anyway, yeah I'd love to see a new 3"er! with perhaps a good weehawk tanto blade and a leather sheath. Titanium too- it'd be SUPER fast

"Bad Chicks" go for the "Bad Boy" image, then your just stuck with a bad chick ;) I prefer my chicks nice and sweet, let them get to know the GOOD you, then a couple of months down the road, when it's totally unexpected, whip out your Balisong and show them that you are'nt such a "Good Boy" afterall:D It worked for me!;) Really! I'm getting married in December!:p

but that must mean that good girls DO like bad boys, eh? if she's a good girl, and you're a bad boy (of course you are, you have a bali! :p), and she wants to marry you...? :)
 
I revealed my bali fetish to my wife before we got married. Sometimes there is slight disagreements on budget priorities. (knife budget VS food) :p
She's sort of the shy librarian type, or so I thought...
:D

It's been a wonderful first year, and I am unworthy of the tidings of joy she brings.:)

P.S. She doesn't swing much, but her favorite is my Kelgin mini.
 
Hey I got married 2 years ago but I got my wife into collecting balisongs with me so now we both buy them and she likes to flip too so Im a happy DUDE !

Damn TJ_dude, sounds like you got yourself a good girl there if she also flips. I'm trying to get my girl into it. It's going to take alot of convincing. I think I might try to pull the whole "it's for your own safety" thing. But to the topic. I believe they should customally make a 3" bali. But think if they made a good 7" Steel one with Skeletonized handles. IT would definately be a bali for the house. I'm thinking about having one customally made for me. :)
