Cheaper Than Dirt and Sportsman Guide are advertising new issue Italian dual-pack backpack for aroung $70 - $80. Anyone have any experience with one of these packs? I want to replace a camo day pack that I use for turkey hunting that take a lot of abuse/weight. I generally load up this pack for a full days outing, food, water, ammo etc. Been thinking about the Eagle Becker Patrol Pack but don't want to spend $200.00.

I bought one of the Itailian packs from "cheaper than dirt"and paid about $120.00 with shipping. Now the "Sportsmans Guide"has them for about $80.00.I have not used it yet,but the quality seems very good. The only thing is they don't come with any inst.on setting up the pack, and when you see all the buckles, straps, pockets, ect.,you'll wish there was a guide to go by.A friend of mine knows a Italian guy who is in there military(of sorts)right now.I have E-mailed him and I'm waiting on a reply now to see what he can tell me about this pack. For the price,I don't think you can go wrong. The camo color is very good also.It has enough room for a week if you pack it right. The only problem I found so far, they don't have a sternum strap. No problem,BlackHawk sells a sternum strap for about $8.00 that solves the problem.Hope this helps.

wasp,
Thanks for your input. I would be interested in instructions if you get them from your contact. Cheaper Than Dirt does advertise that they will pay shipping both ways if you are not satisfied with the pack. You could return it and get it from Sportsman. CTD did lower the price to compete with Sportsman. They both sell the pack for $79.97.
