Hi everybody,

I don't if the topic exist in the forum and if it's the case I'll move my message .
I'm passionate by the italian trad. knives. First of course the sardinian knives but also many others which can be found all over the country .

On of my preferate shape after the pattadese is the traditional bergamasco. One of those maker for this is, to my opinion, Luca Pizzi.
Here you will find some of it interpretation :

But there are plenty of other beautiful trad. knives in italy

Thanks for posting these pictures. Those knives are great. I've never seen anything like them.

Very nice! Thanks for sharing them with us.

As always, when I see that letter  in a post or thread, I just have to look! Beautiful knives and great photos as always. Thanks for sharing them here with us !

Gorgeous knives, that handle shape actually looks ergonomic in a way, like you could do some serious push cutting without killing your palms. Not that I'd want to do any hard work with those beauties.

Here is my only Italian knife. Bernard Levine identified it as early 19th or late 18th century. Rocker engraved brass scales over horn. Thank for showing these great custom knives.

Best regatds

Nice to see some other Italian regional patterns (yes, Sardinian traditionals are better, but it's nice to change :D).
My favourite regional patterns are the maremmano a foglia:

and the gobbo (abruzzese)

both pictures taken from the Consigli website :)

Those are some spectacular knives that you have. I picked up a pattada a few years ago while visiting Sardegna and love the shape and function of it even though the finish is no where near to those that you have displayed. Everyone that sees my pattada absolutely loves the shape and usefulness of it. I would love to find a source here in Canada where I could buy one or I may have to wait for when I or someone in my family visits Italy again.
Thanks for sharing.

Wow Fausto those are some beautiful knives! My family is from Abruzzo and I have never seen that style of knife. Is there a resource website that lists all the regional knives found in Italy?

Robin, that is a great old knife! I really like the looks of it with all that character

Fausto, those patterns are beautiful as well. I am really liking the looks of all the different colors of horn.

Hi John, in Canada I don't know where you can find a pattadesa, and if it would be the case it would be an industrial version . But in a way I'm in the same situation. So I order my knives. Of course the problem can be the payment, but some knive-markers accept a bank wire without problem. For exemple it's the case with Giuseppe Galante who is an excellent craftman :
