If there is no completed transaction, Itrader is NOT to be used. A thread in TGB&U is recommended.

Please take time to read the posted forum rules:

Karda,

I have a favor to ask of you. A fellow upstanding BF member (EyeDog), who also happens to be a retired 70 year old USMC Veteran, was left negative feedback by a brand new member on his very first attempted purchase here on the forum. Mike (EyeDog), couldn't be a nicer, & more ethical person to deal with. I will spare the details, but there was no transaction completed. Here is the thread:
http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/1173673-943BK-Osborne-Black-MCP
Regardless, EyeDog now has an ugly 95.7% feedback, while the new guy, who left the negative feedback, is sitting with a nice perfect 100% Feedback rating. The fact that EyeDog didn't retaliate & leave negative feedback (and followed the rules that you just posted) speaks volumes!

I am aware that Sparky, is the only Moderator who can overturn negative feedback. Can you please ask Sparky to verify the details, and please remove the negative feedback?

I think I speak for most member's here on BladeForums, that we fear on any given deal, we don't get that ONE irrational member whose capable of doing this same type of action. Our Feedback rating is our credibility, & the first thing that most member's look at when considering a transaction.

Thank you very much!

Moved to the appropriate form. Much more likely to get noticed in it's own thread rather than being added to another. Has the feedback been reported?

The way to report a bad feedback is to go to the member's iTrader record, find the line of the inappropriate rating, click on the triangle icon, and report.

I just entered a report through the iTrader triangle icon on Eyedog's account:

No transaction was completed.
iTrader rating is inappropriate.
Please remove this.

rycen, Esav Benyamin, & Karda,

I sincerely apologize for my post, re-post & then re-post for the 3rd time in the GBU. I was wondering what the heck was happening. I learned something new here on the forums this evening, that I will file away for future reference.

Thank you very much for re-posting my thread in the appropriate forum (here in Tech Support). Hopefully Mike (EyeDog) & any other member's for that matter, can take the necessary steps to correct this type of situation (which is clearly unwarranted, & against BF rules).

Thank you again, Mod's, for all of the thankless hard work that you guys do; you guy's are the sole reason why this forum runs as smoothly as it does.

Thanks my friend. I have used the icon to report the problem a couple if times. Maybe your short bullet point explanation will do the trick.

Well...I am convinced that Spark does not exist!

Yes, this is very disappointing, Mike; I see that your Feedback rating is still at 95.8%. It appears that thee only Mod (Spark) who has the ability to correct this situation, is MIA. Read all of the posts regarding the Gold Memberships that haven't been upgraded for the member's- that's a big fail too!

Can another Moderator please explain to us honest member's who help support this forum, as to why it seem's to take an act of Congress to get such a simple correction (NEGATIVE FEEDBACK THAT WAS LEFT IN VIOLATION OF BLADEFORUMS VERY RULES- SET BY YOU GUYS), made right???

FYI: My BF membership renewal will be coming up at the end of June. My intentions have been, to upgrade to a Platinum membership, however, in light of the current circumstances of cases like this, along with the current Gold Membership problem that other members are complaining about, if things do not change by then, I am going to have to reconsider. It is very unfair that we (the honest upstanding member's here) are not being heard, & these issues not corrected in a timely manner! This isn't intended as a knock on Spark, but I think that it is time for Spark to start delegating some of the responsibilities to the other Moderator's.

Thank you in advance for your continued interest in this matter.

My laptop is dead thanks to my son killing it and my access to bfc is severely limited these days as a result. I've had to order thus far a new LCD, battery, power adaptor, and now a new motherboard each taking over a week to arrive for the techs to try to fix it. Still waiting in motherboard.

I'm literally posting from my phone right now. Hopefully this will be resolved soon so that I can have more time to fix things

Will be good to have you back on board soon.

Thank you for posting this update, Spark. Hopefully you will have your computer issue resolved soon, & BF once again will be running on all cylinders. And please, don't be too hard on your son; just enjoy this 3 day Memorial Day holiday with your family!

Another positive transaction, Mike...your feedback rating has now climbed up to a more respectable 96.6%...& climbing.

Let me reiterate something for anyone wondering. If you leave someone a negative (red) feedback mark, and no deal has occurred, you will receive an infraction from me. Why? Because you have not bothered to read the rules where it is clearly stated how this whole thing works, that is why. There is no room or place here for immature butt hurt behavior and I won't waste a second dealing with it. Retaliatory negative feedback will also get you some red chiclets, so don't do it.

This is great to know, RevDevil. This has also happened to quite a few other honest, upstanding member's here. There have been many other member's who have incredible feedback history, with the exception of having the misfortune of dealing with member's (like the guy who did this to Mike). This was his very FIRST transaction here on BF, & he starts his BF experience throwing a tantrum & leaving EyeDog negative feedback for a deal that never even happened. This was in direct violation of BF rules!
Any member who leaves negative feedback, strictly as a retaliatory measure, should be given a negative feedback rating as well...otherwise, what is the deterrent? I'll bet that this would get people's attention, & make them think twice, before pulling this type of crap!
Mike (EyeDog), now has the misfortune of participating here on BF, with the indignity of having a poor feedback rating for over 2 months now, while the immature member that didn't get his way, get's off scot-free & continues shining with perfect feedback, like nothing even happened. It's so incredibly ironic, that Mike is still dealing with his unjust negative feedback, at the same time, the member who precipitated this entire mess, gets a free pass.
With all due respect, RevDevil, an infraction just doesn't quite cut it.

I understand your opinion and position Kelama and appreciate you sharing your thoughts on the matter. Unless Spark deems another course of action, that is the only way to begin to deal with it. The system works as it is. I've seen Spark delete a negative feedback that was left for someone without due cause. Infractions work, although it's not my preferred "go to" method of reaching people. I try and appeal to a persons reasoning skills and common sense above all else. If they cannot be reasoned with, they get kicked out of the community. If they come back (sometimes they do) we always find out and they keep getting kicked until they get the point. Bottom line is this community is for mature individuals, fun is always allowed and strongly encouraged, but respect is also required.

The member that precipitated the mess in "Eye-Dog's" case didn't get away scott-free. There is no second time with that kind of thing. The second time usually means an abrupt departure via the port side plank.

It's reassuring to know that you Mod's monitor all of the dealing's here on the forum, & you are on top of things. I do understand, that there needs to be a little latitude given to new member's until they get their footing & understand how everything is run here. We all had to go through that learning curve here.

Hi Spark,

I noticed that you are back up & running online again. Have you had a chance at looking into the rules violation that was made by the member who left EyeDog (Mike) the negative feedback, for that supposed deal that never happened?

Thank you.

Hi Spark-
I'm assuming that this request/issue was been pushed further back into the archives, & because of that, you have simply forgotten about this thread?

I'm still hoping that this injustice for my good friend (Mike), will be corrected! Please do what is right & remove the negative feedback that was left in direct violation of your very own BladeForums rules.

Thank you!

Hey man, I've reversed it. Sorry about the delay. For those still wondering, the laptop still hasn't been repaired. Latest excuse from them is that the video cards keep frying and they are on their 5th one. :sigh:

Hi Spark,

WOW!!! Thank you very much for doing this! I consider Mike, a very good BF friend, & the fact that he is an honorable USMC Veteran, makes me respect him that much more. If it were any other member, I would have let them deal with their own problems, but in this case, Mike got a raw deal, (one that I am grateful you corrected).

I understand your frustrations with your computer problems...they can drive you crazy if you don't get them fixed!

Thank you also, for not laying the law down on me. I realized that a couple of my posts were strongly worded. The middle of July, I am due for a membership renewal, & because BladeForums is the forum I most respect (due in part to the way the Mod's keep this forum run so smoothly), I will upgrade my membership to Platinum.

"Time for a new machine I'd say."

I think that you are 100% correct, RevDevil.

Thanks again, Spark (& also for your help Mod's) for correcting this. BTW- I called Mike, & gave him the fantastic news...he sounded pretty ecstatic, after I gave him this awesome news!!!
