I got a box today all the way from Australia. Hmmm, what's in it?

Sorry about this photo guys, I couldn't help it. I just sat the box down on my snare making bench and took the photo rather quickly & I ended up with a bunch of other stuff in the frame. I was drooling, dying to see them..:D

This one is a really nice Bushfinger with extra wide Desert Ironwood Burl handle scales. I like the wider scales on this, it feels very good in the hand..

This one, a Hunter, I got used from him. I was surprised to see what great condition it's in. The handle is perfect but it does have a few VERY minor scratches and a bit of patina. I would actually call it, personality! :)

Lastly but CERTAINLY not the least, a Bog Oak Hunter. I just call it The Bog....

A nice, happy little family of AMAZING steel. Is it just me or is Andy a TOTAL mad man! :D

All of these came with sheaths in the photo, made by Elvis (Joufuu). Not bad sheaths at all, very good quality! I do wish the leather was a bit thicker though. I also want to give a HUGE Thank You to The Scotch Man, (Scotcha) for being so cool to me & for such a great transaction! The Bog says hello...:friendly_wink:

Give the leather some time to grow on you. Leather is really strong stuff and most applications are way thicker than they need to be.

I very wise Master Sheath Maker told me once, "a 200lb man can hang himself with a piece of 4oz leather". Everyone has different likes/dislikes when it comes to knives & accessories .. so i can understand it when someone likes the heavier 8-10oz leather bits - but - I'm with you Blaine, the big thick heavy stuff is probably overbuilt for a knife sheath. I know it's a lot harder to work with by hand.

The knives are gorgeous! Congratulations on scoring thosr!

I think you very well may be right about that. I have been looking at everything for the last few hours since receiving it and I have concluded that the thickness I'm used to is just to much. I like these sheaths, Elvis, I like them a lot. They're very high quality & well made! I'm already waiting for your next thread as I need 2 more. I need another Hunter & Bushfinger dangler sheath & I want yours...
