I just broke out a Cuda MAXX I've had stored in my closet for a couple of months. It has been up there and uncarried any because it was a partially serrated version. After getting it down and giving it the once over I have decided that the serrations don't matter one way or the other, it is still a MAXX! Got this one and a plain version back in October and had put the serrated one up and sorta forgotten about it. After getting it down I discovered that it had 1) perfect lockup with no movement in the lock bar or the blade.
2) blade is perfectly centered upon closing and 3) the annodizing is as nice as any MAXX I've had. All good reasons to make this a carry knife. Also wanted to get it down as I preorderd a Cuda MAXX spearpoint that will be here on Friday and thought I "needed" to refamilarize myself with the MAXX. Has anyone picked up a spearpoint version yet? If so how do you like it?
Btw I did disassemble this one for some finish polishing and now I have it tightened down to my liking and the blade still just glides open and KER-THUNKS into lockup. Man that is a beautiful sound!!
