This morning my wife gave birth to a beautiful little girl. We've been trying for nearly 8 years to get children, so this is the best day of my life.
I guess there will be no money for expensive handles for the next 18 years or so, but she's worth it.;)
Girls make good knives too, don't they ? :)
Just wanted to let you guys know.

*** Congratulations ***

Girls make good knives too ??? Try Dellana, Audra Draper MS, Kathleen Tomey, and many more. They make GREAT knives !!

Congratulations.....I have one of each. The youngest is 22 years old and I remember the night they both were born like it was yesterday. By-the-way....it will most likely be more than 18 years. There's college, grad school...their first major slip up with money and......since it's a girl....you get to pay for a wedding. It's worth every penny too!!!!:) :) :) :) :) :) :)

Congratulations to you
we waited 3 years not by choice
her parents said we had to get married Ha Ha ha that was a long pregnancy
two boys, youngest 18. both in collage we just had our 25th..
your going to have fun now...until they get to be about
35 or so:D enjoy while you can, you can't get it back to do over again.
teach her right from wrong and be an example
( they do what you do) and you can't go wrong,
worked for us I got the best boys ever..
Congratulations and have fun ....and get some sleep:(:D

Excellent! I wish you, your wife and your new daughter all the best! My "little girl" will be 21 years old next month. Enjoy her while you are able, they grow up in an awful hurry.

Scrimshaw and engraving. Now those are two arts that would really compliment Pappa's knifemaking!

I am looking forward to becoming a father one day.Dan hit the mark on what he said.A child is truly gods gifts to us ;)

You people make me feel like an old-timer (which I am). My daughter is 38 and gave me 5 grandchildren!
Not feeling like granddad, Lynn

Congratulations P.K. I wish you and yours the best. As for handle material there is always 2x4's.

Congratulations! My wife and I tried for several years before becoming pregnant with our first. I am constantly amazed at my son and daughter (and very proud too!). Don't give up the knifemaking just yet, it will help keep you calm. :D You do have to become inventive with funds for the habit (knifemaking} and it will become harder to even find the time.

Way COOL!!!!!
Congratulations to both You and your Wife..
Being the only man in my house I LOVE my Shop..Trust me you will get inventive with ways to get handle material and ways to get in the shop.Little girls like Daddys shop just fine, ask how I know:D

Mark: I have a Rem. 870 and a Win. 9422 + all my swords and knives - that should do the trick.
Life is funny - because of the kid I didn't go to work yesterday, so somebody else closed the building where I work last night - and he ran into about five men trying to rob the place. He got out and called the cops, but they might as well have gotten hold of him and kicked his butt. That should have been me.
Before you ask: no we are not allowed to carry any kind of defense weapons, but I do so anyway. Someone from Guns & Ammo put it this way:It's better to be judged by twelwe, than carried by six.

I'll add my congrats on this one. Nothin in life comes close to the birth of that first one. My first one starts college next week:( They do grow up fast.
