I guess that I could be considered a "lurker".....

. With a smidge over 100 posts, I'm definitely not in the "big dawgs" catagory.......
In order to clarify the aforementioned term, I'm requesting exactly that......clarification. Be nice now, I get hurt feelers pretty easily........:jerkit:.
In all seriousness.......Chris and Bill are gaining a bunch of followers, some buyers and some not so much. I can hardly blame or discount their enthusiasm for these knife builders beautiful knives. I just happened to be passin' by one day myself (a drive by of sorts...) and landed here. I joined so I could search for "drop points" and bingo................I'm one of Bill's bitches now......LOL. So my interest is primarily in one type of knife.....a deer and elk dressin' machine that can handle other chores too, but it's primary goal is to take care of game animals. So I'm not very diverse in that respect and likely bore Bill to death, but it is what it is and I'm trying harder to use my imagination a bit more.
I did recently purchase a very nice knife from GL Drew.....a large and beautifully done filet knife. I also recently purchased a wonderful knife from Joe Hoover that I've yet to receive (only because I bought it within the last 48 hours). So I have expanded my loyalties a bit, but as Bill recently told me (which is a huge testament to his personal integrity....IMHO), "you should try out other knife makers offerings as that's what this is all about". Now, had I not paid him like clockwork for each purchase and custom job, I might have thought that he was just trying to get rid of me 'cuz I was a slacker and it would be financially better for him to have me do my business elsewhere. Since that wasn't the case, I'm concluding that Bill is just one of those guys that doesn't mind sharing and hopes that people have good knife experiences whenever possible.......even for us newbies that likely ask more dumb questions than our wives do as we had out the door with our buddies......

.
Bill and Chris are just good people with alot of talent and I'm glad that I found my way to this forum.....especially this sub-forum. I've never met any of the regulars on their site, nor Bill or Chris and I likely won't, but I know full well that I'd enjoy most if not all of them. I told Bill the other day on the phone that he's welcome anytime to stay at my home and to share some deck time on my boat pursuing king salmon if and when he ever gets up this way.............and I certainly mean it and would hope that he would do so. It would be cool to share some of my passions with him.....as he has with so many of us.
Take care and sorry about ramblin' on...............it's just one of my many failures........like buying a beautiful knife from great people.
