Man, check it out . . . . . .
15 people viewing the great BA / KFU forum at this very moment . . . .
Another couple days of this and we will have to have I.D. badges and a damn cover charge to get on here . . . . . :D :D
Good going BA & KFU, we told you guys word was getting out about you two renegade knife makers on here . . . . ;)
Be safe.

lol...i guess they read some of our older posts and decided there were too many crazy people hangin around here. I'm off to bed hope oyu all have a good night/day tomorrow.

I predicted this would happen!
TOLJA SO! TOLJA SO!

G, in your life time and mine, think of all the companies that started in a back room or a garage, & then a short time later went on to need a 500,000 s/f warehouse and 15 story office building just to handle their day to day operations . . . . . . . ;)
. . . . could we be on the ground floor of BA/KFU, Inc. . . . . :D
Be safe.

I am gonna want a job in thee next couple of youears...just sayin ;)

Alan, if I am not mistaken, unless a company is privately owned, don't they have to have a "Board of Director's" to oversee all corporate functions ??? ??? ???
Oh hell yeah, I know 7 seats that are already filled if needed . . . . . ;)
Be safe.

. . . . I think the JUST1MOR household will adopt a new rule that neither food nor drink will be allowed in the gun room while the yellow internet light is lit on the server . . . . ;)
Be safe.

I guess that I could be considered a "lurker"...... With a smidge over 100 posts, I'm definitely not in the "big dawgs" catagory.......

In order to clarify the aforementioned term, I'm requesting exactly that......clarification. Be nice now, I get hurt feelers pretty easily........:jerkit:.

In all seriousness.......Chris and Bill are gaining a bunch of followers, some buyers and some not so much. I can hardly blame or discount their enthusiasm for these knife builders beautiful knives. I just happened to be passin' by one day myself (a drive by of sorts...) and landed here. I joined so I could search for "drop points" and bingo................I'm one of Bill's bitches now......LOL. So my interest is primarily in one type of knife.....a deer and elk dressin' machine that can handle other chores too, but it's primary goal is to take care of game animals. So I'm not very diverse in that respect and likely bore Bill to death, but it is what it is and I'm trying harder to use my imagination a bit more.

I did recently purchase a very nice knife from GL Drew.....a large and beautifully done filet knife. I also recently purchased a wonderful knife from Joe Hoover that I've yet to receive (only because I bought it within the last 48 hours). So I have expanded my loyalties a bit, but as Bill recently told me (which is a huge testament to his personal integrity....IMHO), "you should try out other knife makers offerings as that's what this is all about". Now, had I not paid him like clockwork for each purchase and custom job, I might have thought that he was just trying to get rid of me 'cuz I was a slacker and it would be financially better for him to have me do my business elsewhere. Since that wasn't the case, I'm concluding that Bill is just one of those guys that doesn't mind sharing and hopes that people have good knife experiences whenever possible.......even for us newbies that likely ask more dumb questions than our wives do as we had out the door with our buddies......;).

Bill and Chris are just good people with alot of talent and I'm glad that I found my way to this forum.....especially this sub-forum. I've never met any of the regulars on their site, nor Bill or Chris and I likely won't, but I know full well that I'd enjoy most if not all of them. I told Bill the other day on the phone that he's welcome anytime to stay at my home and to share some deck time on my boat pursuing king salmon if and when he ever gets up this way.............and I certainly mean it and would hope that he would do so. It would be cool to share some of my passions with him.....as he has with so many of us.

Take care and sorry about ramblin' on...............it's just one of my many failures........like buying a beautiful knife from great people.

Magnum...a lurker is someone who we see on the bottom of our screen that never posts anything other than "i'll take it...PM sent" in the BA/CFU forum. It a running joke we have since Gnarly accused a few of us of being lurkers when the forum first opened. I am happy to tell you that you are not considered a lurker and that with time you could...maybe...possible...work your way up to the "BIG DAWGS."

What bill said is true...its good to get out there and try out all the other great knives offered by people associated with this server. Its kind of like going to a fancy ice cream shop and only ordering one flavor...it might be your favorite, but you never know if you hav more than one fav it you don't sample around a bit.

Glad to have you with us.

by the way how far North and West are you...i checked you profile, and was wondering because I will be in Alaska in about 6 months. Always nice to know who's near.

It ain't the # of posts,magnumb....it's the willingness to join this buncha Heathens; the camaraderie and the joshing....the kinship we share.

Men whom,as they useta say: "They'll do,to ride the river with!",which was high praise.

The Lurkers? that's my dig @ a number of folks who hang back in the shadows, and never join in.

They don't know what they're missing,by hanging on the fringes.

And it's not even derogatory; it's an open invite to get their feet wet!

~Gnarly

Alan - pretty far north. Actually, the most northwestern county in the entire US. I live in Bellingham, WA. I can see Canada, the Canadian Gulf Islands and the San Juan Islands (US) from my deck.

Soooooo, while I'm not in or too close to Alaska, we do have a ferry system that runs to and from.....;). If you're going through, get a hold of me here and we'll hook up one way or another. That goes for any other of the members that I've "conversed with" so far here on this sub-forum. Bill already got the same invite awhile back, but when he asked if he could bring his blow-up doll with him, I draw the line at that.........:D:D.

Take care.
