Took my Manix2 to work last week for a hardness measurement. I ran across a stress engineer about my age, whom I've known for about 10 years. He raises and works horses as a hobby and a couple of years ago had bought a fairly serious blade to use in support of that. I showed him the Manix. He took one look and said, "I like that. I want one." Just in case he was serious, I gave him the name of my favorite Spyderco dealer.

I saw him again today. Well, apparently, he went to the web site...and got busy. He ended up with a Manix2, a SuperLeaf, and a couple of Ladybugs.

I've created a Spyderco-knut. Buahahaha!

i've been purchasing a lot of spyderco knives lately and i show off each knife to my co workers. i'm proud to say that the seeds i have planted are slowly taking root because i they are telling me how much they like spyderco knives! the hawkbill really got some of them talking and two of them have each purchased a spyderco hawkbill for themselves...oh yeah!
 
Why would you do that? It sounds like that man is your friend...

Just kidding. Manix 2 is what started it for me, so good choice!
 
Follow-up to story.

My friend brought his two new knives over to my desk today. He loves them, especially the Manix2.

He told me that he gave one of the Ladybugs he bought to his wife as a gift. He said he apologized a bit as he gave it to her, because, he considered it a guy-type gift. His wife turned to him and said, "I LIKE knives." They must have been married for like 30 years and now this revelation. Sounds like he'll be buying more Spydercos to satisfy the high command.

By golly, I've created two.

I bought a Manix 2 for a friend. Man that thing is a TANK! I swear I don't need another knife but dang I want one for my Zombie bag now.
