I've had this Medford smooth criminal for a few years. I absolutely love it. However between primary and secondary grind looks like it hit a flat or something on the belt.

I tried to get the light to hit it just right. Normally you don't see it at all. It's just at certain angles. Any concerns about edge stability over time? I don't care at all about aesthetics but in my mind there's less edge strength.
 
Looks like factory bevels and you are following those angles. You could drop down on your angles and probably remove that spot. It’s too high on the shoulder of the edge to pose any concerns other than looks.
 
Have you you used it enough in "several years" to sharpen it ?
Shouldn't make any difference until you do, even if then..
I don't think you have to worry about "edge strength" if you don't use it.
