Well its been a year since i got it. have been carrying it in my rotation off and on and using around the house. Gave it a break for a couple of weeks since it got a bit dull. Keep switching between it and my Spyderco M4 Bradley.

Well i picked it back up and decided to give it some TLC. I have been working off and on on convexing slowly. here she is now convexed, trying to get a pretty edge on it but having a hard time getting it to come out:o

I took it from 400 grit to 800 grit and then black compound and then green compound on the strop. what am i doing wrong. I can shave hair on my arm but i cant whittle the hair:D:confused:

any recommendations?

I ordered a Norton stone in 1000/4000 grit, hoping this will help???

Yeah I would think you would need to up the grit. Finish on 2000 to 2500.

I can guarantee this is your problem. 600 to 800 to 1000 to 1500 to 2000

to black compound to green. This is very important.:thumbup:

Or you could catch the sickness, proceed to the nearest auto body supply shop and head all the way up to the 12,000 range.

Also remember to use very little pressure while hand sharpening. Let the sandpaper naturally and slowly polish the edge. Patience is key!

Thanks for the info.

Does the edge itself in the convexing look like i am heading in the right direction?

Looks like you are heading in the right direction. Be sure to watch the pressure. Very light pressure if using thick mousepad and slighlt heavier if on leather or a thin mousepad. Also if reworking the edge I usually work up a burr on one side and then switch sides doing this all the way to 2000 then to the strop to knock off the burr. Some people don't like this but to each his own. Just try and keep the edge centered by keeping equal strokes per side.
