I just got a Becker bk9 and it is bent! Not much but it is about 1/32'' to the right. It starts at where the clip point starts. Its not much but if you look along the blade you can see it. I called kabar and the lade told me that I should email a pic but I don't think that my camera will see it. my question is if the camera wont see it is it going to effect its preforminc? she also Sade that I could send it to the factory to have it inspected but if he dos not see it than I am scrwd. I Rely like the knife and it chops grate!

Thank you for your time and any suggestions would be welcome.

If it bothers you send it back. But With that said it should not affect a big chopper like the BK 9. Some here would like for you to at least try to get pics of it.

You could take off the scales and lay it on a flat surface.
It should show up in a picture that way.

+1 for removing the scales.

When you lay it flat on it's side, make sure there is light behind the shot to show the bend, snap a photo, and flip it over to show the contrast from one side to the other. Hope you get this fixed to your satisfaction.

1/32" is definitely not enough to affect performance. You can use it without fear that the bend will cause any issues.

My first BK9 had a bend in the middle of the blade and it bothered me, but I figured since I was using the knife and the function was unimpaired, I would hang on to it. That was five years ago and I still use it. 1/32" is nothing to sweat over.

Send it back to the company if you simply can't live with the problem. I am certain they will take care of you. Over the years I have used a bunch of 'bent' blades, some of them were semi-customs that were bought second hand. A few were abused, probably tested to the max.

Some of my smaller machete blades are bent from being used too hard. A broken knife is another story altogether. Someone posted a pic a while back of a 1311 that had been broken from the impact of hitting a coconut. I almost fell out of my chair on that one! Luckily my 1311 is still ticking but I can tell you this, that pic put the fear of God in me. I hope he received another knife and an explanation.

could you post that pic of the 1311? that really sucks! I've beat the snot out of my 911 w/o problems

I am not denying what you are saying, but I would almost bet the knife is not bent, but that the clip is not ground straight on the blade. when looking down the spine, if the clip is not ground symmetrically the tip will appear "bent." If you still are not happy just send it back to KA-BAR using their warranty. I would assume a miss-grind or a bend would be considered for warranty. OR you might just try contacting who you bought it from.

But check the clip and let us know.

EDIT: I have had this issue before... sometimes uneven grinds make things look bent. My 9's clip is not perfect, and the edge of my two came out uneven. With the 9, its not a big deal because its minuscule. With the two, I re-profiled it anyways... sssoooo...

If you send it to the factory you'll most likely get a new knife.

I sent my BK2 in because the sheath was scratching the blade. Nothing serious, but it bothered me so I gave it a shot. I was really worried they wouldn't honor it since the knife was technically sound and still worked perfectly. A few days after it arrived at Kabar they mailed me a new BK2 w/ a new sheath, no questions asked. I was very impressed by their warranty.

Dear sweet mother sadie of the lake.

1/32 won't affect shit, beat it like it stole your wagon full of bubblegum.

I bet if you were posting that on a phone, your thumbs are as big as the bottom of a can of Coke.
