This evening a friend and I will be heading to Utah Lake here in Central Utah for a much needed campout. We will be taking a bunch of pallets and cutting them up for fire wood. Going to use my new Hawk made by Keith Johnson, my WWII and a small fixed blade or two. Will try to practice my no match fire building skills while we are out there.

Will try to get pics on the trip. ;)

Thanks guys!! The camera was first to be packed along with my 16.5" WWII. Leaving in about an hour, just need to pack dinner and breakfast.

Anyone else going camping this weekend?

The Campout was cancelled to do a good chance of rain. So I'm home eating Dutch Oven Chicken soup and waiting for some Peach cobbler to get done. My friend Carl and I will go camping in a week or two.

Heck Yeah!!

It rained up north by Salt Lake City suposedly, but not here last night. I'm starting to think the weather people are loosing it. Sometimes they are spot on, but for the last few weeks they have been really wrong. Then again here in Central Utah we say "If you don't like the weather, wait 10 minutes, it will change". LOL!!!

I am not going for camping today becasue the weather is too cold but I will go out to the lake to take few picture of Knife and sowrd.
Have a great time!

That's also what we say about the weather here near Buffalo, Heber : ) That's why we camp both with our swimming trunks And our Cabelas Trans-Alaska sleeping bags. We've adopted the saying, " There is no bad weather, just bad gear..."

Roger,
That sounds like great camping fun. I really miss making our camping forts with the big couch pillows with our daughters who are 12 and 17 now. I'm just glad I have two great sister-sons age 5 and 7 that visit. We made a cool pirate ship last year, with a sail that can be raised.

Looking forward to seeing some pics of the lake, Yangdu.
