Hello Busse Family!

Met with Dr. Gray, my oncologist, last Thursday and we now have a schedule for my chemotherapy. They gave me a flu & pneumonia shot, as well as blood work on Thursday. On Friday, I had to get a TB test and another skin test. I get them read on Monday. I also see Dr. Millis on Monday to schedule getting a port-a-cath surgically implanted. Lastly, I have a lung function test on Friday. I go to Dr. Gray next Monday, Oct. 29th, and if all the tests come out OK, I will be admitted to the hospital to receive my treatment. I will stay in the hospital 5 days, out for 2 weeks, back to hospital for 5 days, out for 2 weeks, then back to the hospital for 5 days. Each Monday not in the hospital, I will go in for an injection. So, total of 15 days in the hospital and 6 Mondays of injections. Looking at the calendar, I will be done on Dec. 24th!

Chuck or I will keep you posted on my progress. Thanks in advance for your thoughts & prayers.

You're definitely being prayed for from down south as well

Keep us updated as you can, and we'll keep praying. :)

Dear Barb,

Jules told me this may be coming, that you'd need the chemo. I know first hand how scary those words can be. I was Stage IV Uterine in 1996. 18 months of Cisplatin. And I have surpassed all the odds ;)

POSITIVE mind and outlook is so important. Make sure Chuck waits on you hand and foot ;)

If there is ANYTHING I can do please don't hesitate to ask. Jules and I will be praying for you and wishing you strength through these treatments.

Make sure to bring you comfy jammies when you are in the hospital, anything that will help you feel more like yourself.

Again, warmest wishes,

Janie & Jules

Prayers's sent your way Barb...you to Chuck.

I plan on seeing you go for the title again at Blade next year!
