I have spent the last 15 years or so trying to find "The One". The knife that my wife, children or grandchildren will say, "That's Papa's knife." I've got all the 300 series of the Buck pocket knives, and fixed blades, which are really my favorite and have been since I was probably 11 years old. I've got Case represented in both bone and stag. I especially like the Peanut in stag. But something just clicks with the SAK. I carried one on a trip to the Holy Land back in 2013. Really came in handy. I've pocketed several models off and on since. Now it seems, with all the knives in my cigar box, the Alox Pioneer, Recruit or 74 mm Ambassador end up in my pocket every day, mated with a classic in basic red. I have an office job, got a garden, do a little fishing and mess around with shotguns and .22 rifles. I have not hunted in several years and not really much likely too anymore. I'm 61 years old and looking forward to retirement in a few short years and decided, stop the madness. As our venerable Carl/ Jackknife has revealed time after time maybe we don't need all that stuff. I have really bonded with the usefulness of the tool set in SAK knives. Just enough to maybe get you by in an emergency. I have given away probably a dozen or so of the Classics to family and friends in the last few years sharing with them what I think would be a useful item. So, yes. I think I have finally found "The One." Just wanted to make a public statement.
