I have spent the last 15 years or so trying to find "The One". The knife that my wife, children or grandchildren will say, "That's Papa's knife." I've got all the 300 series of the Buck pocket knives, and fixed blades, which are really my favorite and have been since I was probably 11 years old. I've got Case represented in both bone and stag. I especially like the Peanut in stag. But something just clicks with the SAK. I carried one on a trip to the Holy Land back in 2013. Really came in handy. I've pocketed several models off and on since. Now it seems, with all the knives in my cigar box, the Alox Pioneer, Recruit or 74 mm Ambassador end up in my pocket every day, mated with a classic in basic red. I have an office job, got a garden, do a little fishing and mess around with shotguns and .22 rifles. I have not hunted in several years and not really much likely too anymore. I'm 61 years old and looking forward to retirement in a few short years and decided, stop the madness. As our venerable Carl/ Jackknife has revealed time after time maybe we don't need all that stuff. I have really bonded with the usefulness of the tool set in SAK knives. Just enough to maybe get you by in an emergency. I have given away probably a dozen or so of the Classics to family and friends in the last few years sharing with them what I think would be a useful item. So, yes. I think I have finally found "The One." Just wanted to make a public statement.

"Life" is not complete without at least one SAK in the pocket or clipped to the belt ... on a SAK belt hanger, of course, or to a belt loop.
(a split ring on the belt loop is optional.)

A Huntsman and Hercules are going with me when I get planted. (along with a stockman, and either a 2 blade folding hunter or a Buck 110 or Old Timer 7OT.)
I haven't decided yet if I'll take my Ruby SAK SIGNATURE (2001 xmass gift from my former & now late boss.) Sadly the matching Huntsman vaporized in Oct. 2019, during my move to Assisted Living, but I suppose I can order a Ruby red Huntsman (if still produced) for the trip to my next life, or if I will take the Mini Champ along.

I started carrying a SAK in 2007 and haven’t looked back. My family expects me to have a SAK in my pocket. My children grew up since that time and flew the coup. They live out of state. It always makes my day when they FaceTime and I see their SAK that they’ve used for some task in the background. My wife now carries and uses one of her own too. They all recognize the sheer utility of a Victorinox SAK.

Uhh, I'm no mathematician, sir. But if an Alox Pioneer, Recruit or 74 mm Ambassador are all seeing pocket time (not to mention that Classic in basic red), I think it's more acccurate to say you've finally found "The Four." ;)😂

For a while now I have settled on the spartan and Swiss tool as the knives I always have on me, however I cheated today and swapped the spartan for a sportsman, lol lots of variety there.
