This is my third folder ever....made the first two a few years ago. Its 4" closed and 6.7" open. Its a linerlock with double liners on both sides in 6AL4V. The liners are handrubbed on the outside and jeweled on the inside. The inner liners has been heatcolered to a bronzecolor. The blade is RWL-34 handrubbed to 400 grit. 60 Rc and cryotreated. The handlematerial is some very weaterbeaten mammoth ivory. It does not show very well in the picture but it is very structured.....screws holding the scale has been fileworked and heatcolored.

I´d really like to hear what you think...! I am pretty damn excited about finally having another one done........

Yup, this has YOUR style! :D Congrats on your re-entering the folder brigade! I can see *many* variations available out of this canvas. This particular one is simple, sturdy, and elegant. Good work--no, make that GREAT!

I like it. Great work - very nice profile wharncliffey hawk. :) I especially like the extra work making your own clip - complements the handle. Very cool.

Thanks guys!..it was really fun to make....and its such a joy when you put the final screw in place and it just work great. I am glad you think it has the Anso-look!....that means I succeded :)

I definately think you succeeded in capturing the "Anso" look to your folder. I love the blade shape and especially that gorgeous mammoth ivory. I have never seen such texture before.
BUT... and please don't take this the wrong way, but why do you only have scales on one side of the knife? If it were up to me, I would lose the clip and put another slab of that gorgeous mammoth ivory on the other side.
Just my .02,
Mongo

I think I'm going to need one.:D :D Great looking folder!

It is very nice. The simplicity of shapes makes it very elegant. Thanks for sharing the pics.

Mongo: Thank you for your kind words..! I think this way of doing handles are kinda cool. And I like to have pocketclips on my folders and this is a way to keep the design neat. But on the other hand I have nothing against regular handles..!

dsvirsky: If so you will not be the first since yesterday :D

dialex: Thanks!...I try to keep all my designs very clean with simple lines but with small details to make them strong.

Waaauwww!!:)
Du har virkelig fået skovlen under dine folder-design....
Meget smukt arbejde!!
Alt godt fremover,
Jesper/Vox.

Very nice!

I started knifemaking myself a couple of months ago, finished my first which was a big mess but learned a lot from it.

The main thing I learned is that it will probably take me years and years to make something like you did, with the details and finish.

Did you use machinery or is it all hand-file work?

Again, beautifull!

Ted

Jens,
I am drooling.
That's one of the nicest folders I've ever seen.
I'm with Mongo on the handle scales though.
That Mammoth Ivory is so nice, I want to see it on both sides.
I'd gladly give up the clip for that.
Besides, this knife would go great in a clip on sheath.
Any price set for the knife yet?
What steel do you use for it?
Keep em coming Jens!
Thanks,
Lenny

This is made in RWL-34 powdersteel from the Damasteel factory. It is NOT handfiled out :) I am using beltgrinders, diskgrinder and what have you as on all my other knives.... :)

Lenny: If you email me at jens@ansoknives.com I will send you price info.

This is a great little knife! Actually, not so little - but, in any case, a great knife!

thanks Joss and Jsun..! Framelock....you just never know do you?...actually I am starting to think about a design for a friend with a framelock.

Beautiful knife -- I could see one of those riding shotgun on my pants pockets. Great blend of simplicity and class. Great work.
