Well, I'm not at Blade. I'm gonna work this weekend, of my own choosing. Sunday is going to be another bore.

And it's raining.

Is that why it's so slow/quiet around here? Sheesh. You'd think these guys depend on Blade for a living or something. :D
I'm happy because my Lenox bimetal blade finally came in. I used it over lunch real quick and I am in love! This will speed up my "production" substantially, as well as greatly reduce the amount of metal dust I make. Also got some new steel that's fun to work with (O1) and I have people lined up for wanting to buy knives, so life is good!

yep blade can kiss my ...... :grumpy:
ok realy i wish i could have went but so be it and yes its raining and crappy here too oo and im at work least i can do some knife things here while waiting to get the next load of mats out the washer

Well, today was pay day, and I'm just a little bit closer to having enough dough to buy a knife from Razorback Knives. I'm playing with a Spyderco Military from a passaround, and just got my Bog Dog from Thatmguy. Life ain't too bad.

I should have a Strider AR to f with froma Passaround, soon. That'll be fun! I was hoping to make some progress with my folder, but my cross slide vice got backordered, so no cutting locks until that comes in. Stupid Harbor Freight! Otherwise, I'm making Tactical Orange Peelers and steel dust all day tomorrow, God willing! :D

Doc, don't you have a truck, or a buddy with a truck? On HF's website, they should have a store listing.

SHS, it's just a cross slide vice for a drill press, so it's not that big. I ordered it along with my bandsaw, which I got a week ago, and then didn't find out until yesterday that it's backordered. So, it's paid in full and just needs to get here. It's a 45 minute drive each way to the HF store nearest me, which isn't too bad. If I would've known it was backordered I would've taken the trip, but that's how this whole project has been working out, so whatever! :D

Okay, I can see your point there. Have you called your local HF store, and asked if they have that in stock? Maybe you could just cancel the backorder with the online service, and present your receipt at the store. If you already tried that, please disregard my post.

We spent the whole day at a hospital 80 miles from here, wife having tests. After getting off duty at midnight last night and logging lots of miles on patrol and then early morning trip and back, I'm gonna loaf until tomorrow. It's shop time for the rest of theweekend, fellas. I think a delivery of a double order of BBQ chicken wings and some pizza will be in order tonight, plus some cold beer to wash it down with.

John, I hope all comes out well with your Wife.

I didn't make the B show again this time, but I finished 3 knives I've been working on today. Fried up some WALLEYE, FREEDOM FRIES, AND ONION RINGS ON THE FRONT PORCH , THEN WASKED THEM DOWN WITH A FEW COLD BUSCH'S. It really doesn't get any better then that, Blade show or not. :D

Bill

Damn! Fried Walleye! All I had was fried pork chops (a favorite of mine none-the-less). Not ever having been to Blade, I don't know what I'm missing, or what to expect, but do hope to attend next year for sure. My wife wants me to try and get a table next week in fact. I LOVE this hobby!

Yeah, steak for dinner, I gots me a good wife, love that woman.

I'm lucky in that I live just north of Atlanta, so I'll be going down at least one day, I'm thinking Saturday, and if I want to see more, I'll go back on Sunday, my wife may or may not accompany. Not a bad situation. Amusingly, it seems I'm in Atlanta for a good chunk of the following week for a trade show for the company I work for, go figure.(they may want me to stay Sunday so I'm there first thing on Mon(ugh, like 4:30am), we'll see.

John, yeah I hope everything is ok with the little lady, mines been feeling poorly lately too, but not that bad. Hope everything works out ok.

Been working on situating my new shop. Shop is coming together ok, got the HF bandsaw, actually an older, different name, but same thing, refurbed and working decent, still need a decent verticle table for it tho(anyone?), but drill press, sander(4x36) and grinder are in place, as well as the requsite big ol vise, etc. Just need a real belt grinder and I'll be in decent shape.

If I got any time at all this w/e I'll be beating some metal into some kinda shape, we'll see, ain't lookin good for it, timewise.

Jon

Don't feel left out. I'm stuck home this time too. Only way I could have went was if I'd gotten a table this year. Gotta go pay bills, and taxes :grumpy:
