I finally got my frequency drive setup done and have my KMG rolling. Might have to do some actual knife related stuff this w/e.

Going scounging at my junkyard this afternoon for some crane cable to play around with.

What's goin on with you guys?

sheaths, sheaths, sheaths.......

This morning I am waiting out the slick road condtion. Dont want a repeat for those who know what I am talking about..........screach...bang!

Going to work. Cleaning old moldy hay out of a barn to get it ready for baling this summer. I think there's a skunk in there too :grumpy:
Then saturday and sunday its back to the horses and knives. Might go to a horseshow saturday :)

Got to do my taxes today. Going to Tandy leather store for some supplies. Try to get some more grinding in this w/e. Hope to go to an oyster feed at the local fish and game club Sat.

The snow is snowing all around -- it falls on hill and dale :grumpy:
That was a cute rhym when I was a kid but this is getting old :barf:
Guess I will borrow one of my kids 4 wheelers -- they have 2
I think I will go hide in my shop -- maybe file out something new to make. How about a fire striker that looks like a DRAGON

Felt like a bag o' ass yesterday and had to go home for a bit. Not feeling too bad this morning. Hoping sleep took care of it and I was just worn down. :(

If things go well, I'll be in the shop finishing orders and hitting a local gun show tomorrow to see if I can score a Walther P99. :D

I forged a few blades over the week and a couple were out of my shear steel stash. I plan to do the heat treating today. I've got my first pipe hawk about done so I'm looking forward to finishing that off today.

I'm going to unpack my heat treat oven and have my son help me mount it on a cart. Then I'll do a test run. I'm even going to read the directions first. I know guys don't admit to that, but heh, "hellow, I'm Terry".

Terry, What type oven did you get? You better keep your son around to explain how to program it. I find if there's more than an on/off switch I need help.

I bought an Even Heat. I did a search on the forum and found several good posts on that brand, sooo. Yes, my son will help me with the buttons, wires, etc, etc. It can't cause me any more trouble than trying to heat treat with the forge or torch. In the imortal words of Dirty Harry, "a mans gotta know his limitations." That was mine.

well today is almost over for me. about time to head into work. though i managed to grind out a nice apprx. 4 1/2" blade this morning a nice 30 count straight pattern damascus dagger. 1096/L6 turning out good so far. Ray: make sure you post some pics when you're done. sounds like a nice piece

Our cat "Avarel" was too sick and had to go to animal hospital this morning. At noon I finished rough grinding of my sister's bday knife. Started to make a big hunter/skinner. I'm waiting the D2 stock and some belts I ordered yesterday. Now its 21:00 pm. here and I'll start my forge to hammer a sword...
Happy Weekends Guys

O.K. What I want to know is why are you guys up so early in the morning? 6:30, heck that is bedtime.

Anyway, I have to go pick up the runt tonight and hang out with her then she goes back tomorrow. Then I might HT Prototype #2 of the Gent's Auto. Just depends if I get motivated enough to fire up the salt pot. Made Proto #2 out of damacus, and depending on how things go, I should have pictures next week.

Other than that, I am going to have a few "cokes" on Saturday night, and catch up with sleep on Sunday.

Hopefully the useless prick repairman will finally get the icemaker fixed on our fridge tomorrow AM. For the rest of the weekend, I'm hoping to to a major re-arranging in the shop to get all the grinding stuff on one wall where I can rig some kind of curtain to help keep the dust/grit out of my more precision machines and tools. Moving the grinders is no big deal as the surface grinder is staying put. Moving the Bridgeport to the other side of the shop, on the other hand, looks to be a bit more challenging......

Then comes moving hundreds, or perhaps thousands of lbs of tooling and accessories into th eappropriate spots to make them easily accessible to the machines they're for.

It ought to be a riot.

Have a motor to wire, a new grinder to set up (but waiting on a step pulley, so even if a miracle happened it wouldn't be usable yet), still have to finish my KITH knife, and my grandma passed away this morning so none of it is going to happen because I'll be out of town for the next three days.

Sorry to hear about your Grandmother Chiro75.

This weekend I will be attending my first custom knife show ever. It's the Scottsdale, Arizona show. Since I still haven't completed a knife yet. I thought I'd go and get some inspiration. Anyone else going to that?

Sorry to hear about your grandma. We'll keep you in our prayers.

This weekend, I'm going to build a small, makeshift forge for heat treating. I hope to make a better one when I get some more money this summer.

Plus, it's Spring Break for us here. The Love and I are going to spend some time together as well. We got a BBQ with some friends tomorrow, too.
