Well, we found out this morning that my wife and I will be having a boy in February. Watching that baby move and seeing that life growing was one of the greatest things I've ever witnessed. God is indeed great!

Now I've got to start working on an heirloom piece, probably in the form of a sleek modern bowie. :)

Congrats Nathan!

There truly is nothing like being a Dad. Is this your first child?

My wife and I had our first, also a boy, 10 months ago. It changes your life for sure but the changes are good ones and welcome.

I also began building and almost finished a large, decked out heirloom bowie for my son.

Very cool.

Thanks, everyone! This is a tremendous blessing to my wife and myself. It's a miracle in my mind, and I am very thankful and blessed to have a wonderful wife and a baby on the way. I've been thinking about the heirloom quality bowie, and I have some ideas that will push my envelope. It will probably take me a couple of years to finish, but I'm thinking of a frame handle or at least a take-down style with some of the best materials I can find. I'll take my time and piddle with it, but it should be worth it in the end. If I can just finish up these orders I have, I'll have a clean slate to go to work on it.

Good thing I've already been saving up for a new pistol. :) It's going to be my concealed carry, and I have a local shop trying to tie down a new Springfield EMP 9mm.

Congrats Nathan!! I've found that as mine is getting older my available time for getting in the shop has scaled down. But let's face it the tools and shop will always be there, every day they get a little older and changes happen. The tools and shop won't change.

Best wishes to you and your wife for a healthy baby and an easy delivery when the time comes.
