It may be an over-used cliche but... I think I've found my grail.

This just arrived today and I'm absolutely thrilled with it! Beautiful mammoth ivory scales with lots of character. Size is exactly the same as my Charlow. Blades are perfectly centered and about a 7+ or 8- on the pull scale but I'm betting they'll loosen up with a little TLC. No half-stops to speak of but good blade snap to open and close positions. F&F are near perfect. C'est magnifique!

And as usual, Derrick rocks!

That's a beauty for sure! Congrats!

Technically, the Calf Roper is the #66 stockman. This jack is one of the most beautiful GECs I've ever seen!

The coloration and the character of the ivory is spectacular. Huge congratulations! Grail for sure.

Stunning knife. I like the combo of a clip blade and pen blade in that knife, something which is unusual for me.

Holy moly, that's nice. Congrats. :)

Ach, Jeff, so one would hope, and so it was.

Now? GEC seems set on befuddlin' us.

To whit (note the Description):

(As just one example; the newer #66 Jack is identified as "Calf Roper" throughout current GEC literature. Why.)

Best I can tell, there's no difference between the earlier Jack on the #66 frame ("Serpentine Jack") and this one, safe for a variation in appointments.

On this, I believe we can all agree:

Beauty! I've got my eye on those new #66 jack releases, I'm really enjoying how the gabon ebony looks personally.

I would have a hard time putting that mammoth to use, I would find myself staring and playing with it more often than cutting!

Note to self: Extract foot from mouth at first opportunity! :o

I had never seen the current info on the new jacks, had no idea they would reuse the name Calf Roper. Sorry for the incorrect correction.

It's still a gorgeous knife, however, no correction on that score!

Luckily I just ordered a sawcut #66, otherwise your photos probably would have tempted me too much and forced me to order one..

Note to self. Read everything Jeff posts before agreeing..:foot: ;)

That looks really nice! Congrats on the grail knife. Do you have any pics of the pile side?
