Well, guys . . . ITS HERE! Yesterday I "pre-cleared" the shipment through customs, and was pretty much waiting at the hanger for the forklift.

Two hours later, Marya and I have just finished off-loading all the khukuris, and boy, are you guys gonna love the next few days - a literal custom khuk frenzy.

I don't think anybody will be happier than Otto Reiger: the luckiest man on the forum. I got not one, but two of the nicest, coolest khukuris - the design winner khukuri. Guys, this baby is SWEET! Otto's out of town, I think, so he'll have to wait until Tuesday to get his khuk, but when he gets back . . . oh my.

Now, since Marya and I are celebrating our second anniversary TODAY, we're going to clean up, go eat dinner at Ruth's Chris Steakhouse, and call it a night. But tomorrow starting at sun-up, we will be doing nothing but khukuris.

Order of business:

1) Photograph all the one-of-a-kinds, as there are some that were "special orders" that must go out to customers tomorrow.

2) Pack all the back-orders.

3) Post the pictures.

I know that the pressing question is what will be done with Otto #2. First, let me say that I will DEFINITELY order more of these for delivery in about 3 months. However, for someone who just can't wait and wants one now, along with a letter of authenticity that it is #2, it will be available - probably by auction on Bladeforums. There's also a TB-made Hanuman and some other unique handle-variation khukuris. The Afganistan khukuris didn't come in, but I'm shooting for delivery in 4 to 6 weeks.

I can feel the eyeballs waiting for pics, so stay tuned for tomorrow.

That's great news, Craig. I'm looking forward to seeing the pics. And congratulations on your second anniversary! Drink a 24oz Fosters on tap for me! But PLEASE make sure it's cool, not chilled, and served in a room temperature mug-if it's too cold, it withholds its awesome aroma and aftertaste.

What? This isn't the beer forums?!?

Actually, it's a Murphy's Irish Stout with a dark color, a creamy taste, and a smooth finish.

And guess what? Marya and I got back home and decided that we'd do a little khukuri work! Call us crazy, cause we are!

X-Head,

Murphy's Irish Stout is like drinking cold coffee with chocolate syrup in it. I'm of full blooded irish ancestory and I can't handle it most of the the time. Your an Alabama boy so we know you can't!

I take umbrage at thst statement . I too am of the irish blood , scottish to for that matter and I asure you that a irish stout or two has passed these lips. Chase it down witha little Powers and you have a really nice time .

Ben, I grew up 10 miles from the Jack Daniels distillery. We thought water was just for bathing in and milk was just for cats. I'm qualified.

I see we've digressed into a quite excellent topic. Yes, Murphy's is sort of like coffee (cold) with chocolate syrup in it - and I LOVE the stuff. Everybody should try one - c'mon - everybody does it.

To bring the conversation full circle, here are some pictures of some of the non-standard khukuris we got in:

One of the original Hanuman(te) khukuris hand made by TB.

The "Zebra" khukuri - obviously one of a kind (I picked this out from the 1000 SN1s in TBs storeroom - he won't turn away a well-made khukuri, and buys whatever his kamis make that passes muster, so he's amassed quite a collection, including this baby).

Anybody recognize this?

Okay, any interest or further questions that "aren't for the group" please visit the following URL:
http://www.cystern.com/khukuri/khukurigallery.htm

That's our khukuri photo gallery where one-of-a-kinds will be offered from now on. I'll usually post an "alert" here, but from now on, that's where you'll go to see the new pictures.

And folks, this is JUST the tip of the iceberg. I have Gangawals, Cheetlangs, Scrolled Buttcap "shop #1" WWIIs, white deer horn minis and SN1s, "high-brass-buttcap" specials, khurmis, dhankute khurmis, a stablized spalted california buckeye handled SN1 (or is it a birdseye maple?) and much, much more. Not to mention the contest winner, which should be in Otto's hands tomorrow night (photos of #2 to follow tomorrow). That's it from GH tonight.
