Got my eagerly anticipated brand spankin new BK9 yesterday, what a beast and hair shaving sharp, i LOVE this knife but I kinda want to customize it a little

so off with the plastic scales and out with the new ones i just cut-Purpleheard hardwood, and also the blade stripper(never done this part)

for the first try, i think it came out nice and the new hardwood grips look pretty cool...sorry for the crappy pics but they actually are a deep purple and beautiful

Next victim I am going for is the BK-5, hopefully ordering next week.

looks good man. i like to see ya making it your own right out of the box. what hardware are you using?
 
That's the one area I'm struggling with, getting stuff that fits. Seems I need a 5/8 bolt to use but no one makes one so I used a threaded post w/ screw. I think I need to make the grips a little thicker to fit the 3/4 screws but I'm still trying things out
 
Yup it called purpleheart it's a south American exotic hardwood. Looks super in person

but what I want to see is more pics of your reloading station :D
 
Ya I noticed that after I took it, mecs Jr shotshell reloader, u can also see the barrel of my dragoon on a loading stand :)
