Probably not what most of you had in mind but IMO the PM2 is great with a 3" blade.

Looks good to me. I has the flavor of a Caly 3 or Sage 2. Is this the result of a horrible farming accident, before you saved the day with your grinder?

Nice. Do you have a pic of the knife closed? I used to do a bit of woodwork and carving so I can appreciate the idea of larger handles and smaller blades.

Best I could do with the lighting I have to work with at the moment...

And no not a "farming" accident. I bought this one just for this project. Yep that's right! I wasted an uber rare new PM2 for a Bubba project. Even worse, I'm thinking about doing more!!!

Hey, I totally favor modding your stuff. It has more flavor than everyone else's PM2.

I'll be really impressed when you show the 1" blade on your next PM2 mod. Or take it to the max and have the world's first TSA-friendly PM2 - with no blade.

Grind and polish down the scales and liners then remount the clip and win the internet.

Personally I'm waiting for the version with no handle. That one I think will be killer!

Actually I am really liking the full sized handle with the smaller blade. Besides the nested and skeletonized liners don't lend themselves to such a mod without remaking the scales. I'm going to use it as is for now. If/when Spyderco comes out with a smaller PM2 I will surely buy one but for now this is the next best thing IMO.

I like it! Someone did the same thing to his Military not too long ago, after the tip broke off.

3" blade, is this pretty much, the ole Para one dimensions?

Yes the Para 1 had a shorter blade but still over 3". Why do you ask?

I think he's maybe hinting that the PM1 might be a better fit for you than a PM2 - unless you prefer the slightly larger handle.

I asked because, I liked the look of what you did. I have 3 Para one's and two Para twos, so I was thinking Hey! maybe I'll start carrying my good ole Para one again. :D

I bought a Para 1 thinking it was more of what I wanted but I found I didn't like the ergos of the knife nearly as well as the PM2. The refinement of the Para 2 went beyond increasing the blade length.

I agree the ergos, are not as good on the one. I took a dremel to the hump on the rear of the handel, worked great!

Not quite as bad as the ProTech Half-Breed

But still pretty funky!

I just tuned up my PM2 and have been carrying it a lot lately. It's such a great all-around knife. It does gets so many things right.
