And low and behold, as I carefully opened the the small brown box, buried in styrafoam peanuts, an Emerson Box was found. And as trembling fingers unearthed the treasure, opening the box and carefully, ever so carefully removing the contents, in to my palm dropped the left-handed Commander I had ordered only two days ago.

I closed the door to my office and gingerly placed it in my pocket, and with a tentative, gentle motion withdrew it. The wave caught and suddenly in my grasp was an opened ready to work knife of pure utilitarian beauty.

It's hard to believe that the Commander is actually faster than a switchblade to deploy, but it is. I am in awe.

If you folks haven't already quessed this is my new EDC, though I must admit that my BM 710 may still wander into my pocket now and again ;) .

Well, the rest of my workday is shot, but I've got to keep the wheels rolling, so till the next time.

I gotta tell ya, I'm going out of my mind. I want to continually pull the Commander from my pocket, activating the wave and thrusting, all in a nice tight circle.

Unfortunately, I'm at work and this would be understandably threatening to the sheeple. So, I occationally remove it from my pocket and admire it, as I sit. And of course, I make sure that no one is walking by the office.

It's a shame that knives are possess such a negative image in our society. It's as if the object has a life of it's own. You know, the knife made me do it. But this begins to fall into a conversation that goes own forever, with no resolution, and I'm in a mood to play with my knife.

P.S. What initiation rights does one go through to become one of the Usual Suspects? ZD

From what I hear, first you empty your bank account then the credit cards get maxed. Next comes accidental self mutilation followed by something about your first born...:D

Well, let's see:

Ruining my financial future for the sake of knives (at least my wife thinks I am), check.

Already hankering for a P-SARK, for right hand (though I may have it set up for left hand so I can do a reverse grip draw), okay, check.

Small dead animals (does it count if my dog likes to kill rats and cats?), well maybe, check.

I'm beginning to post in this forum, quite often, okay, check.

No children to donate to the cause, but I hope you won't hold that against me.

Does it help that my wife wants a lefty, she can use it while her gun is drawn? Is that sick or what?

Alright, sign me up, pull me for the line up, I request membership in the Usual Suspects.

P.S. Just love that wave, damn thing deploys even when you're trying not to. ;)

I received my cqc7b with wave almost a week ago now, and it's still hard to not pull it from my pocket and caress it. my wife asked me last night if I was ever going to 'put that thing down?'... I dunno. maybe someday.

love that sound.

and beautiful black steel with a gleaming edge in your hand, ready to go...

BTW, Cats maybe a good place to start but to me a real Suspect, you need to move quickly onto Goats or your firstborn (at a real push you can use your neighbours firstborn, but please ask first....)

Ed

Your in trouble now! Soon your house will be full of knives and you will haunt this forum every day! - Dick

I just got my Commander courtesy of Disector. What a great knife! I now have a 98 SpecWar, a Mini CQC7B, and a Commander with a mini-c on order. I think that I've caught the fever!

Matt,

At least you do not have the Custom bug yet.....
