Sweet purchase man. Sounds like a Becker, just born and it already wants to get some work done!

You did all that damage to it in 10 minutes!? :O

lol jokes. I gotta get my hands on one of those things soon.

They are a work horse to be sure.

Congrats Facebacon!! Never thought I'd type out the word Facebacon...lol

it was a piece of wood that had be split already i just split it in to 8ths it did it like a champ

I think they meant the damage to the coating, no one is surprised about the wood, that what the Machax was made for.

Well, everyone except Bob.... But he's just a motorcycle, what do they know? (just kidding)

Congrats on the steel.

yeah the new coating seems to not hold up as well as the old stuff looks cooler tho

I can't even do "*facepalm*" because that would make no sense given your username....

The new coating is tough as hell, even K9 said it's some of the toughest coating he's seen (though it sounds like by far not THE toughest, cerakote or w/e sounds like it's better than putting concrete on your knife). The new coating is supposed to be stronger than the ESEE coating.

odd mine seems to be flakeing off in some spots and i allready have a bare spot on the blade sure its tiny but my bk7 seems to be holding up better

Why have they changed coatings? Is it cheaper to produce, easier to put on, or was there complaints about the other stuff? Most of us are going to peal it off anyway so why even have it on there?

As for oXide (X), I may just be a Motorcycle but I know what love is and it’s a box of chocolates.

I may be getting a Canoe in a few days so I may have to change my name to Bobthecanoe. You think motorcycles are dumb you should try carrying on a conversation with a canoe, they are really dumb.

They changed because the new one is "tougher than ESEE's", at least the the only real reason I can find other than "it looks better/cooler".

And while canoes may be really dumb, I find that they are generally more intelligent than the people in them, but that's because the only people I ever see in a canoe are Boy Scouts/Venturers/adult leaders for either program, and they tend to make scotch tape look smart, but that's our nature.

Here is my LE machax after the first 10 minutes of use. The old coating comes off pretty easy too.

I think the coating grabs more, hence tearing it off easier. Although I will day its tougher, at least on my paint stripper. The old stuff curls up and off the blade in 7-10 minutes, the new stuff takes at least 13-15

Is everything going to the new coating or is it just the new line that went new coating.

I need to hurry up and by my BK7 out of old stock before my local store starts selling the new coating.

All Beckers will be going to the new coating. Once all the knives that are already made with the old coating sells out we will start seeing everything with the new coating.

What is LE?

Never mind, It just hit me. Lazer Etched, thank you : )

That actually sounds like a pretty good guess but its Limited Edition. Its the first machax released by Kabar, there was/is a limited number available Its just the old coating with stamped markings instead of the new laser etched like facebacons.
