I was offered this Grail and, having a soft spot for Maringer knives, was able to procure this beauty to add to my other two Vorpal Haiku's...sub-hilt #915 Prototype in wire-wrapped stainless and sub-hilt #930 in DLC coated Ti with a DLC coated double-edged blade featuring Tom's O-ring handle treatment.

The Haiku knives breakdown into 17 different pieces, the same number of syllables in a Japanese Haiku poem....the knives so named by Tom's lovely wife.

This one is #927, 'Brass' ano'd Ti with a double-edged DLC coated blade and Tom's O-ring handle. This was one of Tom's favorite pieces because it looked like the fittings were brass and folks always expected it to be MUCH heavier than it's svelte 9 ounces. ;)

Housed in one of Tom's legendary Kydex shoulder rigs, it carries very easily and deployment is lightning fast. I used to carry one of his original Vorpal's almost 20 years ago and it was very handy and accessible then and now... :)

Wow, that is VERY cool!

Dudley, first, happy birthday my friend.

Second... you got it. The right knife for the right man, so pleased you are happy. Like I said, it's serendipity.

Please do a cutting demo, Tom would be delighted.

I have always liked the way his wire wrap was. I can't remember where I saw it at before, but it always stuck with me. I love them!
