I was recently told I should post more so...

Came into a small spirograph 21 a few weeks ago from a good guy here on the forum. I'm actually not huge on damascus for some reason and attempted a catch and release, however she's kinda growing on me and may end up a keeper.

I don't know if it's fear of messing up the blade that prevents me from using it or what, but over the years I've realized I'm not a safe queen kinda guy. Damascus, UG's, Mammoth, Annuals, Wood inlays have all passed through my hands and I just never can bring myself to use em!

If any of you regularly carry damascus please chime in and let me know how they hold up:thumbup:

Yeah you should, havent seen you around here in a few years?

Thats a semi rare knife bud, keep it!

Very sweet knife. I love the spirograph! I'm sitting in wait for one to pop up. Thanks for finally posting, geeze:p:p!

Thanks all, good to see ya around lemmuhj, I think I will hold on to her. I may not post much, but I definitely pop in here often.

Lone Wolfe kind of suggested I stop being lazy about it haha, but believe it or not the knife didn't come from that spectacular collection!

^speak of the devil:D

I actually have been wanting to, but haven't wanted to take her apart!

And "put some crk grease on that itch" needs to be a slogan!

I started carrying a Large 21 Basketweave last September, and it has since kicked out any S35VN CRKs from my pocket. I now have that Plain Jane Basketweave, a Large Micarta Basketweave 21, and a Basketweave 25 (clearly my favorite pattern).

CRK's damascus holds up to any daily use you can throw at it, and it sharpens up like nothing else I've used. With just a few minutes of minimal effort, the edge comes back to shaving sharp. The finish also holds up extremely well. You'll pick up a few minor scratches if you look for them, but the pattern stays beautiful. I've also noticed that things like tape residue don't get stuck to the blade as easily as a stonewash or satin finish, as I only ever find residue from use on the edge itself.

I strongly suggest keeping that Small Spirograph and putting it to use. You have a desirable knife that will serve you well.

Thanks so much for this post, put a lot of hesitation to rest!

Do I have to take the blame for everything around here? Sheesh!

:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Welcome back! :)

See, it didn't even take a chopper to get me here:p

Happy to help! After a little use, I started to realize that the etch is not like a DLC or other coating. The pattern is not "on" the blade, it is the blade, which makes it that much more fun to use.

Cheers!

Nice knife. I am very sure Lonewolf has deep pockets. Keep in mind you need to keep your purchases within your personal income limitations. Always remember, your buying knives that depreciate in value. Nice to own a few but never try to keep up to others or let other members pressure you into buying more knives.

Thank you!

I'm usually the Devils advocate when it comes to things sharp and pointy, however I've scaled back tremendously.

The cool thing about this knife and many others, it's a discontinued model, so the value, if maintained and treated well, will actually go up up up:thumbup:

......... Always remember, your buying knives that depreciate in value...........

Many CRK's absolutely do NOT depreciate in value. Do you know how much money I could make if I could go back in time and buy up a stash of BG-42 Regulars? Maybe go back to 2010 and buy a few River of Fires's (Sebenza 21, BTW) at CRK's table price. Maybe go back and buy a few H's.........
