Well, not really BUT in order to do be at the right place at the wrong time
it had to take split second timing!
At lunch time today took a drive to Walmart to pick up a package that was
ordered using their Site to Store offering.
On the highway, speed limit is 65 there, going just a little over that,
I saw a tractor trailer heading along the highway coming towards me.
Then, almost in slow motion, a layer of ice broke up and flew off the top
of his trailer, flying and looking for all the world like large panels of glass
a few inches thick coming right towards me! I felt like I was in an action movie,
As I sped up to try and miss the entire barrage, one panel struck my right
side of my hood and then bounced into the windshield!
It was very nerve wracking to say the least! A large dent in the hood, several
actually, tried to bang it out but no luck. I felt fortunate that the windshield
did not break.
SO, one of those IF questions,
IF I hadn't left exactly when I did, I would have missed those flying panels.
IF, I drove slower I would have missed them
IF, I drove faster I would have missed them
IF, I just waited to go later that night, I'd have missed them.
BUT, to be there at the exact time they flew off and to be struck by one
of them, I must have perfect timing
