Cool post Pit, proves a point eh? Every time I see that fire steel of yours it makes me feel better about my worn LMF Army model that's only about an inch long now.

Very cool to see that you're still getting use out of that little firsteel Pit. However I hope you swap it out for a larger one now that the cooler weather is coming.

I know you put your self in the situation of being cold and wet, so you know how very difficilt and even dangerous it would be to spark that tiny rod with a knife if your hands were numb and shaking.

That's right, I remember the thread now.

If you're good Santa might bring you a shiny new fire steel too! :)

Ok if you are up in Canada catching reptiles while it is 40F here, then I want a refund for being in the "south"

The NanoStryker has a replaceable (threaded) ferrocerium rod, which is a good thing. When the kids borrow my firesteel, the seem to put an inordinate amount of wear on it. The N/S also stores the rod in a water tight compartment, which cuts down on unecessary corrosion.

Dang Pit, gimme your address and I'll send you a couple BSA Hotsparks. ;)

Very kind of you buddy but I think I'll manage with what I have. I'd not heard of the Hotsparks before and had to look them up, I wish they sold them over here, you seem to get all the cool stuff over in the USA !
I've been looking for Bank Line for a few weeks now and can't even find that over here !!!:(
