In today's news you will see various reports of an Japanese oil tanker accident near the Nicobar Islands. The Tanker was responding to assist a ship in distress when the two collided spilling some 4000 tons of oil. What bother's me is:
1) That the name of the cargo ship is never mentioned (although a few stories call it a singapore flaged ship)?
2) Why focus on a 4,000 ton spill from the tanker when the other ship (the one on fire) likely has as much fuel in its bunkers?
3) Where are the stories of a heroic crew battling a fire on board a cargo ship?
4) Since when does an oil tanker approach a burning ship? (What were they trying to do mate it- you use lifeboats for rescue)
5) None of these reports mention weather conditions; or time of day.
Could it be that our peaceful Islamic neighbors, have taken it upon themselves to rid our oceans of those unsightly super tankers, by faking distress calls and raming them? (the distress call bit - may turn out to be optional)
