...I can't exactly recall how I managed it, but I made an impressive cut in my right thumb an hour ago...
Right now, everything's under control. I was lucky enough just having the blades wiped clean -they were slightly covered with protective oil- so I'm quite sure no complications will occur. The cut was so clean I didn't feel it -still hardly do!
So much for "playing" with a new knife... A good reminder they deserve some respect and are NOT toys. I do like it a lot BTW; another forumner two days ago stated he was slightly disappointed. Gladly, I'm more impressed than I hoped I would be! The edges of the carbon and wood handles needed a little smoothening with well-worn 1200 and 2000 grit paper, and I do agree with the new 690-owner I mentioned that the look of the knife is matte ratger than glossy. I do hope the untreated carbon-fiber will withstand regular use; only time will tell.
The thumb-stud operation is not quite smooth enough to safely open single-handed -I found ou the hard way- but I might carefully apply a tiny drop of Teflon in the right spot.
OK thanks for listening, I'm off to inspect my "wound"...
