I think now I understand Buck Fever! I am new to collecting, knives that is ,I played around with baseball cards with my son in the 90s and had a coin collecton as a kid. They do not compare to the plain ol fun of collecting Bucks! The thrill of the hunt, joy of discovery, and the most beautyfull felling of antipation when your actualy waiting for it to come to her new home!!! I can really see now why you have to get a new one! The fix feels so good. I am waiting for my first David Yellowhorse 112. Lacy is her name. I think it was the first standard pattern for Buck back in 1984 .It will probly be the centerpeice of my small (12 so far) 112 collection. AND ITS ON THE WAY!

OMG the poor kid gots it bad!!!
newbie's always seem to get it real bad...
what they dont realise it it gets worse...

:D:D:D:D gets worse..gets better, gain knowledge & friends, trade buck$ 4 Bucks; the kids are barefoot & the Mrs. is wearing that sweat suit from the Bi-Centennial ;)

IT MADE IT TODAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I told 334 about waiting for the postman and he just laughed at me.The knife has been sharpned, and has one tiny, tiny ding in the rear bolster but other than that its perfect! It looks different a littlle more subded than Davids current work..It really fits in well with the theme of my collection "Oddball" I wanted to ask the ol Buckrooes on the forum here if anybody has/did have/know of,or even seen another Lacy model.I know it has to be fairly rare if for no other reason it dates to around 1984 On a forum search there is just a breif referance stating it was the first Yellohorse David did for Buck. Im learning now a big part of the sastifaction of collecting is researching what you have. There sure is a lot I would like to know about ol LACY! Boy if a knife could talk! I really feel so blessed to find this girl, at a price I could afford....Each addition to my collection will have a story.... I laid all my Bucks (12) out on a big red cloth today to see how LACY would fit in.... She was right at home.

Scott, I am going to get my sons camera tuesday and fight this old computer and post one on wensday!!!!!!!!!!! I can do it! I can do it!

Thanks to Darryl and Gene Merrit I have more info on "LACY". She was born in 1983,The "First" standard pattern By David Yellowhorse. Shes number 1 !! Shes also the first to actualy be stamped "By David Yellowhorse", useing a block jewelry stamp. Shes the last one to get factory satin finish blades. There were a couple of minor variations too according to David. Im not sure if mine is early or late...Sharper Image (on the west coast} was one outlet for Lacy,Buck was latter in 1987. The number produced ???? It cant be many...Has anyone here know of a sale ? Value, good question.I have not heard of ANY pre 1984 Yellowhorse listed period. I spoke to David briefly and he said around 900.00 All I know is that I was truly Blessed to be able to add Her to my collection! I am a lucky dog and I will pass some of that luck on down the line....Buckarooes, Ill get a pic of her on this forum somehow, even if I have to go down to Darryls house !! !!!!!!!!

...Yeah...I totally agree Scott. I'm just waitin' to hear bucksway chime in with a confirmation that the pic is showing a "Lacy"...Really nice lines...

A queston Darryls...Is the block jewelry stamp on the inside rear bolster one line or two on yours??? AND great tast in 112s!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Darryls, I was just looking around e;bay when you posted the pic(THANK YOU!)and a seller was claiming a 1982 date on a "Bufflo" with a mirror polished blade, on the bolster his stamp was 2 lines"By David",then below that Yellowhorse.....Mine just has one stamp, "Yellowhorse"...

That is absolutely drop-dead gorgeous!!! I'm drooling all over my keyboard. Loverly, simply loverly. A great find. Congrats.

Richard

Since there is a few differences in "bolster" stamps I will try to make a list.........
