I'm not sure what the prize will be this year, but It'll be worth it....

Post up your pumpkins and I'll let my daughter decide the winner... She'll be instructed to give extra points for:

1. Cool Pictures or videos of the process in action.
2. Involving others.
3. Using Fiddlebacks
4. Innovation - The Dremmel tool is AWESOME with a drywall bit.
5. Instagram-worthiness- and actually posting with hashbrowns or mashtags or whatever the @fadllebak thing is....

This was last years:

And here's a picture to get us started:

And it kills me to think that this knife is sitting in a landfill, along with a dozen of it's kin, lovingly wrapped in bubble wrap... UGHHH!!!!! IT will turn up, It must turn up... But I have felt the love of the community and of those at Fiddleback Forge!

I'll play but only if the prize is that philellow burlap lonestar you got! Haha, seriously though I got cash. You can make a profit!

The peeps that have an F2 are going to be at an advantage

Ahh grasshoppa- The rules are strange that way...

4. Innovation - The Dremmel tool is AWESOME with a drywall bit.

The F2 could be advantageous, but so could making the opening move by taking a Bishop to the top of the orb in an AWESOME opening move. (See what I did there with "opening move" ? get it, cutting the top off the pumpkin to get the guts out.

Or you could Doug Marcida it in a Forged in Fire type thing and "it will kill" and then the Pumpkin comes back...

Or you could have a French Bulldog and try to work the cute angle, or whatever. The beauty of the Fiddleback Forge lineup is that from the Bow Legged Chopper to that little survival tin knife called the Snow Pea, they all fit in a unique place. The neatness of this challenge is that they all have a use, a chance, and and an equal opportunity-- well except for the Maverick, which is, IMO, just a mean spirited attempt to make fun of my mother-in-law's feet, but since Andy's never seen said feet it's probably more an issue of my own making than of his...

ROFL!! ROFL!! :D

It was mentioned, how about dremel tooling Doug Marcaida's image on the pumpkin?

Sweet, I just got back from a whirl-wind trip to Okinawa, Japan -- fifty hours of travel for sixteen hours of meetings....Just long enough to acclimate and then have to make the return trip.... can you say jet-lag?

I'll throw together the "prize" here soon, but post up those pumpkins! Remember, the goal is the pumpkin and the journey, not necessarily the fiddleback, so if you used a dremmel, a paring knife, your ninja-chop, or whatever, then post them up.

Your tax dollar at work over the last week as our team was working at Kadena AFB in Okinawa, Japan...!

So my daughter, the "judge" has spoken. Never making it easy, has proclaimed that Nbrackett and NoRest are co-equals. Whatever that means. (It means twice the work for me, that's what it means...mellinaials, make a decision for the love of all things sacred....)

So, PM me your address and I'll send you a magical, mysterious, box that is full of "stuff." In light of recent events, it will not go boom. It may be capable of bursting into flame, but you will have to strike, scrape, light, flick, rub, or something that will make it inherently clear to you that the action you are undertaking will result in a chemical reaction that will result in fire.

Which reminds me of a Joke--

Build a man a fire, keep him warm for the night. Light a man on fire-- keep him warm for the rest of his life!

-- Be safe with fire- The joke works only because being burned is so awful! stay safe out there!

BTW, sorry for the delay, I've been swamped at work.

Nice Swo, congrats to the co-winners and for the ability of one courageous millennial to give hope to millions of them everywhere that they too can make a decisive decision all on their own...well almost.
