Just finished this knife today. Its one I forged at the OKCA demo and since I did it Saturday thats the name it got stuck with. It has a 8 1/4" 1084 blade, wrought iron fittings and a mystery wood handle. 13 3/4" overall and weighs 16 oz.

That's a beautiful knife Raymond and real nice mystery wood. Saturday seems like a fine name for it.

That's really nice. I like the slight recurve. The cut of the wood gives a nice effect, too.

Why is it "mystery wood"? Did you receive it as unkown or forget what it was since you're 60 now? :D

Hey,can I hold that for a minute?? Handle shape looks great, like you NEED to hold it!! NICE!!

Beautiful knife Ray! I really like that handle and the fine taper on the blade. That's something I've never been able to do grinding. ;)

Nice one Ray , :D
I like really like the fittings you do.. :) was going to mention that Cut on the mystery wood too :)

Oak maybe??

Great looking knife Ray...! The handle looks a lot like "Mulberry" to me. At any rate it is a very good looking handle as well. Is the w/i some you recovered from the wheel in the concrete? Great work!

The is the wrought iron I just got out of the wall but its not from a wheel. I'm not sure but I think it could have been part of the rigging of a two horse plowing set up.

Since the handle is sooo similar to the one Ray posted earlier, and that I got to hold while in Eugene (the one he won tha award with!)... I can tell you it "wants" to be held!!! :D

Ray, turned out even better that I had imagined... That's why I'll let you do the poundin'!!! :D

You make some of my favorite big knives. Thats really outstanding.

I actually made this one for myself as a EDC. It really is a comfortable grip and its easy to hold onto.

Here's one I forged yesterday. I just did a little profile grind to clean it up a touch.
