I have collected and used knives for years, always on the quest for the perfect knife. Posting threads here asking questions about what's best for this or that. Truth is it is all opinion and to find what is best for you; you will have to get out there and use them and probably go through a lot of different blades to get the perfect set for YOU! Everyones set will be different. 6 months ago I was pushing 60 knives. Scratched them all and here is what I ended up after my restart.
Fixed blades: the HG-55 on the bottom has proven to be the ideal skinning knife for me, the hell razor in the middle is a great all around do it all woods blade especially when coupled with an axe or saw. The team Gemini light brigade is my answer to the often asked question "what knife for SHTF?" It is a Jack of all trades. The Mora is a good food prep knife to toss in a pack, stainless and light

I fell for the hinderer design flipper after carrying a ZT 0560 for nearly three years and decided I wanted the real thing. So now I'm getting an XM-18 3.5 for every occasion I also found that I like to carry a victorinox tinker for food on the road and a couple simple and useful tools come in handy. I carry the farmer in the woods.

I have also found that for me, carrying an axe on a camping trip is worth the weight because I enjoy a relaxing camp fire, so I went with a gransfors bruks hunters axe

I have also found that I don't care for the trendy small fixed blade knives, I just can't find a place for them in my system, I bought a bunch and tried hard to like them just not for me.
In the near future I plan to add a BIG!! Full tang bowie, maybe a busse Moab. Maybe something more affordable and a couple of RMJ hawks.
Thanks for looking, just wanted to share my gear
