My necker sheath locks up nice and tight, but I've only had it a while.
I think shock cord would be good for attaching a firesteel into a loop tighter, though.

I'm sure others have thought of it, but the thread title wouldn't be as catchy. And yes, it works well for firesteel loops, which is what I originally bought it for. I have since then found many uses up to and including a lanyard on my '9. Stuff is great. If you stock paracord, you should have a 100' of this stuff too. Got mine from a website called supplycaptain.com. They have all the tactical/outdoorsy colors.
As for the handle...it's yellow electrical tape as a place holder. Can't find a handle I like, so I guess I'll have to shell out for the micarta. (unless you have one you want to send me.....)

I shoulda got a 14. It does paracord SO much better!
You could do that on the 14 as well. Just run the shock cord to some sort of dow rod or similar material so it anchors in the middle. You then puch the dow throgh the hole at the end of the handle. Simple.
