Wild Turkey that is. Some may remember my first thread ever that I posted last year:

Well, it is once again Spring time. Which for me means chasing longbeards. Our season started here this past Monday. It took me a few days this time, but I got the job done. Another beautiful hunt on my place and yet another opportunity to put the Beckers to work. Here's how it went down:
I went with a more aggresive setup yesterday morning. Putting out a Tom decoy with my hen. This gobbler answered me and I worked him down into the field. Once he saw that Tom decoy the deal was done. He was fired up. He sprinted the length of the field, broke into strut, and knocked the poo poo out of my decoy. If you look close you can see how far he knocked my decoy from its stake in the ground. In fact, when I recovered the decoy later I found that he had hit the decoy so hard that it actually broke the stake completely in two. I enjoyed the scene for a minute or so and then I let him have it.

Last year I used the Benelli M4 just for the heck of it, this year I'm back to my tried and true Benelli SBE with 3.5" magnum shells. In 15 years of turkey hunting with this gun it has never let me down.

Good Beard:

So one of the big questions was which Beckers to use for the processing. I decided to go with something a little different this year. I figured since the Magnum shotgun shell did such a great job then why not try out the Magnum Camp. I also wanted to test the versatility of the BK-4. And since the 13 is more of a back up knife for me and spends 99.9% of its time simply riding along in a sheath I thought that it was about time that I got it out and did a little work with it.

Machax for skinning:

The 5 took out the breast on this side:

And the 13 worked on this side:

Onto the kitchen for cleaning, trimming, and cooking. And look who showed up for kitchen duty.

The BK-15 loves kitchen duty.
A little seasoning and flour and a couple of platters of this was ready for the frier:

Makes for a really tasty dinner:

I had a lot of fun with this again this year. Incorporating the Beckers into my normal activities has been a blast and made the work part of things easier and more enjoyable. I'll post my impression of how each blade performed in this task afterwhile.
Any other turkey hunters out there? Have you had any luck yet this year?
