I wanted to get out to North Sarawak's jungles but the locals told me that it isnt assesible due to the heavy rains. So I am home and bored. Started to work on reprofiling my favourite LUSAR tool. The factory grind isnt hair popping sharp so I reground the edge by hand slowly over 8 hours, using a combination of DMT stones and Japanese whetstones. It isnt completed yet but the blade will pop hair now. I will mirror finished it once I am happy with the edge. In the meantime, here are a couple of shots of the my Becker family.

Happy Chinese New Year to those celebrating! :D

Nicely done bud. Great finish on that edge already.

I love the idea of the tac-tool as a truck knife too bsmith. I may just have to do the same :)

Nice work! Stripping the flats on that one looks like the way to go. Now go scratch it up.

Correction, it's Lunar New Year. Everyone still celebrates Gregorian New Year, but for the Lunar New Year celebrations:

Koreans celebrate Seoulal (Lunar New Year)

Mainland China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Macau, Malaysia, Mauritius, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand celebrate Chinese New Year.

Japanese only celebrate Gregorian New Years, ever since the late 1800s.

You are right Arkanian, it is the Lunar New Year.

Yeah, the Tactool would be an asset in a vehicle. I am still working on the reverse side of the blade to give it a true flat. Will let you guys know how it compares with my parangs and service khukuri when I am done.

Cheers!
