I had a Mora Companion MG Carbon arrive with a rolled tip. So I did this to it.

Now a conventional high saber grind with a primary grind of 7.4° included angle according to my digital protractor rule. Tell me I'm not the only person who's dreamed of a saber-ground Companion. :D :D :D

Good job. It looks pretty darn good. I'm a fan of the mora scandi, but think that sabers look "cooler" hahaha.

This cuts WAY better than the scandi did. It can actually cut carrots without breaking them. ;)

Yes, I can see that this is increasing the cutting performance!

I'm doing a similiar thing, but convex to one of my Robust's and it sure is an improvement to this very thick edge!
I have yet to go as high as You, but that will happen.

I did an experiment with a Mora Triflex Drawknife.
I cut off the handle and made a spearpoint and a halfheight convex grind.
The result was perfect!

Hmm... New special grade option?

That way the first thing I thought!!!

Sorry, guys. It was a bit of a pain to do without overheating the blade. Lots of slow grinding with coolant and a minty-fresh belt. I wouldn't really be able to do it on a routine basis at an economically feasible price. :)

Hah--that's pretty sweet!

Funny I saw this. I really don't like scandi and have recently thought of trying to put a convex edge on one of mine. Looks nice
